Fielded a couple calls from friends who are nearing the end of their patience with the Army. Over-worked, under-grade, and with no end in sight. All for Sisyphean efforts to no real end that do little to actually increase readiness, dancing to the tune of out of touch leaders.
Told them what I always do. Hang in there, we will outlast. Their fear is that we will become that which we dislike...FGOs who have given up, caved to the system.

And yeah, TBH, that's my fear as well.

Why do we break our best talent (not me) & force them out?
This is what boggles my mind. The Army could be such an amazing institution, and sometimes is. But we fight these uphill battles just to try to create an environment where we have ready soldiers who want to be a part of the organization - just to try to take care of soldiers

Can't wait for more lies about "we fought the Revolution to keep the right to bear arms" made by the same people who think 2-3 rounds/minute from a musket is the same as semi-auto rifle fire with high-capacity mags.

Willful delusion.
Arms had so little to do with it. Had to do with the rights of British citizens: see, the Intolerable Acts, Quebec Act.

Once Boston was occupied & the MA Militia activated, gunpowder was key, not arms. They had plenty of crappy muskets (not enough bayonets) but not much powder
When CPT Parker put his militia company on Lexington Green, it wasn't to protect their muskets - it was to preserve order from British incursions

I think I have a thing or two to say about it. So, please bear with me through this thread.
What is it that the so-called RW in India is often accused of? "A false sense of pride in India's past"? I have a feeling this meme fits that description with a slight modification.
Tamil Nadu has plenty to be proud of. In the present, it leads the country in terms of several important HDI indices, employment creation etc. etc. Historically, the architecture of its temples, schools of philosophy, cultural connect with SE Asia and so on.
