Just stop rewarding these media-inspired outrage mobs. Enough is enough.
Honestly, in an ethical media environment the reporter would at least be suspended for his behavior and smears. We do not have that environment.

Also, this is why people aren’t bothered about journalists being targeted by the same outrage mobs they encourage against others.
The worst part is these schmucks ignore real antisemitism from sitting members of Congress, but try to ruin random people for blatantly sarcastic social media posts.
Olson needs to be re-instated and the administration should demand a formal apology from Bloomberg.

Not just put people out of work, but also ban something that has led to enormous economic gains, made us increasingly energy independent (a huge national security gain), and allowed America to severely cut our carbon emissions (since she's very serious about addressing AGW).
They insist we must tear apart our whole economy because climate change is such an urgent threat, but also want bans on nuclear power and fracking despite those being proven ways to reduce emissions.

It's almost as if they don't believe their own fear-mongering...
And instead view the threat of anthropogenic global warming as simply a pretext for them to push political and economic changes that they could never otherwise justify or get political support for.

The media and Trump have a very unhealthy codependent relationship.
They obsess over Trump, then Trump obsesses over the coverage, then they obsesses over Trump's reaction to the coverage etc. etc.

Meanwhile, important stories go under-covered and the President spends more time watching and reacting to stories about himself than doing his job.
It's a circus full of clowns.

2) Even if those were all legit voters that did not vote and ALL voted for Abrams, she lost by 54,723.
It is absolutely insane that well-known Democracts are consistently promoting a crazy and clearly false conspiracy, and the media is just ignoring it.
If reporters can devote a hundred articles and a million tweets as to whether Trump was making up stuff about the Hurricane hitting Alabama, we could at least get a few about whether half the leading Dem Presidential candidates are promoting a baseless conspiracy regarding GA.

Gawker lost legally, but it had a dramatic impact on today’s media environment and in some sense won culturally. It was a precursor to a certain style of woke Brooklyn journalism, which was later inflated by capital markets and now feels derivative (eg Daily Beast). /1
Gawker also presaged a certain style of anti-establishment journalism, which migrated to the populist right and morphed into insurgent citizen-journalism. @Cernovich in 2014-2017 could be seen as a descendent. For all its faults, Gawker’s chip on the shoulder seemed genuine. /2
There’s more to say on these thing (including the later Vekselberg investment which may have been a precursor to Russian meddling?). Only mentioning this because I haven’t seen Gawker’s influence acknowledged in #media #journalism & it may help us understand today’s media realm.

I have no doubt the Australian shooter chose New Zealand because:
1. He couldn’t get a semiautomatic weapon in Australia but could in New Zealand,
2. As an Australian, no visa required to travel to NZ.

Australia’s gun control laws prevented the massacre in Australia.
I’m sorry NZ, that a monster we Australians raised on a diet of right wing anti Islamic anti immigrant rhetoric from our media and politicians has done this evil in your home. In a places of worship where people have a right to be safe.
We need to have a good long hard look at ourselves. Our prime ministers locked up refugees, including children, indefinitely on remote islands to avoid Australian law, allegedly to deter people smugglers, supposedly to avoid deaths at sea, call this terrorism. They are complicit.

Most of the abuses that this sector of media is critical about come from internet giants, who pay lip service in response, because those abuses are very profitable, & regulation is unlikely in the US & users not motivated enough to change their usage of networks. /2
US regulation that would help stop the criticized practices is unlikely to help, mainly because Congress isn't qualified to design these regulations, so they would leave it to lobbyists working for the industry to be regulated /3
