"Socialism" has a number of definitions, depending on what flavor you're talking about.

So, what ARE we talking about here?

When @RepLizCheney says "socialism," what is she talking about? Like Trump, she never defines her terms.

National Public Radio's Keith Woods writes today: "Report On Racism, But Ditch The Labels."

Woods isn't arguing that the president ISN'T a racist, in fact he pretty clearly says just the opposite.

Instead, he's arguing that it's not journalism's place to SAY so.

Woods says, "...that's not what journalists do. We report and interview and attribute."

In normal times, perhaps something could be said for this argument. Perhaps this journalistic ideal could even be considered noble.

I grew firmly at the bottom of the Middle Class. Sometimes we had pancakes for dinner because that's all we could afford. My parents managed to scrape by each month, but there wasn't much left over.

They sure as hell couldn't afford to send me to college.

I wasn't an athlete, so nobody was lining up to give me an all expense paid ride to play ball for some great school.

I wasn't a terrible student, but I my grades weren't good enough that anybody was interested in giving me a grant or scholarship either.

After high school, I worked two jobs and managed a couple years at the local junior college. I think I managed one semester full time, but mostly it was a class here and there as I could afford.

Reality of border I’ve personally seen from visits and regular communication w/ people there is a MIX of people coming illegally, families seeking asylum (NOT illegal), people fleeing violence/oppression, people coming to work, Wall needed in places, not in others. It’s COMPLEX.
2) We NEED Border Security, which includes a Wall in places, but other solutions elsewhere. But, rhetoric involved in lumping every migrant together in mass of “illegal immigration” when 1M people cross Border per day legally and 2K per day illegally and via asylum is wrong.
3) We won’t get to a solution until we have mature ldrshp that distinguishes btwn victims of violence fleeing for their lives and those who would do us harm. We made the same mistake with refugees. Dems act like all are victims, GOP like all are criminals. Truth is in btwn.
