1. A rant giving one more reason to stop taxpayer funding of higher ed in America.

In 1939, Europe was divided into two parts: insane, genocidal, sadistic conquering Germans and the countries that fell before them like weak and/or complicit dominoes.
2. Six years later, these countries were mostly dust and rubble -- especially Germany.
3. America's response to the decimation was to provide the capital to rebuild Europe's infrastructure and manufacturing sector, without demanding repayment.
4. In addition, America funded almost all of Europe's military costs for the next 73 years.
5. Freed of debt and military spending, Europe used the money saved to fund socialized medicine and other soft socialism. Yes, Europeans paid high taxes, but none of the nanny socialism could have happened without America's capital investments and defense costs.
6. Also thanks to American money, Europeans felt free from the constraints of work, especially menial work. Moreover, as is typical in post-Christian, socialist countries, their population started to fall.
7. Europeans therefore made the decision that the best way to deal with the shortage of workers was to import workers from Turkey, North Africa, and other parts of the Middle East. In other words, long before the "Arab Spring," Europe was making itself Islamic.
8. The Europeans, floating on a sea of American money and cheap imported labor, declared that they were better than Americans, because Americans don't have socialized medicine and the other hallmarks of nanny-statism (free colleges, subsidized urban transport, etc.).
9. And then the Cold War ended, and American money started to dry up. Did Europeans get off their subsidized derrieres and start working?
10. Nope. They doubled down on their anti-American scolding and opened the gates to what they naively believed would be a compliant cheap labor force from Third World countries.
11. When the British people (not the British ruling class, but the people), said "Enough!" by voting in a giant referendum to leave the EU, the Euro tyrants refused to let them go. The British ruling class has spent three years enforcing this Euro tyrants' mandate.
12. European and British elites are now what they have always been: People who do little, hold much power, and, having been born on third base, think they've hit a triple. They've also learned that the masses are more easily controlled when subsidized than when abused.
13. The European masses, as the subsidies have started drying up, have become restive, only to discover that their rulers, rather than listening to them, decided to import an entirely new class of masses.
14. Put another way, when the going got tough, Europe's and Britain's leaders, after more than 70 years of floating on American money and dribbling the benefits down to their citizens, essentially fired their own citizens.
15. And now, believe it or not, I'm getting to my point about withdrawing federal funds from America's institutions of higher education.
16. American leftists use American colleges and universities to consistently and relentlessly insist that Europe should be our social and political model. Graduates then spread this socialist gospel through the media, powerful tech giants, and corporate management.
17. If you want to end this damaging Leftist Euro-worship in America, tell your Congresscritters that you want to withdraw all taxpayers money, including student loans, from America's colleges and universities, except for funding a narrow range of national security research.
18. Then it'll be time to see how our colleges and universities manage in the free market, in a free country.
19. Most won't make it. Those that do will be worth the tuition they charge (and it will be low tuition, because they'll have streamlined amazingly to beat the market and will no longer have "free" money to inflate prices).

END OF RANT.
