Things have been relatively calm since AMLO closed the door on the possibility of letting the migrants proceed north to the U.S. from Tapachula.
This past week National Guard units have taken the front line at the migration center where the past violence has occurred. #Tapachula 
The combination of AMLO's declaration and increased presence of National Guard units have deflated the morale of the migrants and their protests have lacked the usual fervor.
Whether or not this changes as the clock winds down only time will tell. As it is now the African migrants have protection from deportation that expires in less than two weeks.
It is being reported that INM officials are preparing a final offer for the African migrants in #Tapachula. The migrants will have to accept asylum in Mexico or be deported. Once accepted, they will be ineligible for asylum in the U.S.
