Jerry Nadler just told me that today’s hearing adds more weight for impeachment.
“Article 3 of Nixon’s impeachment was obstruction of Congress, refusing to obey defined congressional subpoenas, pleading imaginary privileges. And obviously that’s what the president has been doing”
Nadler: “Nixon wasn’t foolish to say in advance that he’s going to defy all congressional subpoenas ... and today we saw a witness instructed by the White House completely contemptuous of Congress who refused to answer relevant questions.”
“Just another instance of obstruction of Congress and that’s what article 3 of the Nixon impeachment was,” Nadler said

Former White House aides Rob Porter and Rick Dearborn are not expected to show up at Tuesday’s impeachment hearing before the House Judiciary Committee under White House orders that they are immune from testifying as former senior presidential advisers, per sources
Dearborn’s lawyer says he’s waiting for a letter from the White House and the expectation is it will inform Dearborn he has absolute immunity from testifying. Dearborn’s attorney said he told the committee if his client is granted absolute immunity he will not show up to testify

Nadler: “This Committee is engaged in an investigation that will allow us to determine whether to recommend articles of impeachment with respect to President Trump. Some call this process an impeachment inquiry. Some call it an impeachment investigation.”
“There is no legal difference between these terms, and I no longer care to argue about the nomenclature,” Nadler added.
“But let me clear up any remaining doubt: The conduct under investigation poses a threat to our democracy. We have an obligation to respond to this threat.“

Problem. They voted now on Impeachment 2x. It failed twice. Most Democratic Party Members in Congress voted against the bills designed as articles of Impeachment 1)
So, here is my guess. There will never be "Impeachment"
There will be constant talk about Impeachment.
The game goes like this. Try to undermine the President & his policies by talking about "Impeachment" all the time but do not really try it & fail because it would fail. 2)
& now, Nadler wants to violate the Constitution by subpoenaing Grand Jury Testimony & investigating private communication & business affairs of American citizens going back 10 years. 3) #Nadler #Schiff

It's time I had my say about #Impeachment, DJT's obstructionistic tactics, and @SpeakerPelosi's not pushing for an inquiry yet.

When AG Barr released the redacted version of the report to Congress, he did *not* include any of the underlying documents on which Mueller relied.

Just like a lawsuit, a case has to be built based on facts and evidence. Both the Intelligence Committee and the Judiciary Committee have been working their way through the system, including voting to hold AG Barr in Contempt of Congress. DJT has been fighting them in court.

2/
Meanwhile, the Ways and Means Committee has also been working on getting DJT's tax returns. One of the Committees has also been working on getting records subpoenaed from DJT's financial management firm and from Deutche Bank, known for Russian money laundering.

A note on #impeachment -

In a court of law, under non-presidential circumstances, impeachment is a tool litigation attorneys use to discredit the opposing side's witnesses at trial. When said witness takes the stand under oath attys. present evidence contrary to what the witness
claims. This weakens the other side's case by discrediting impeached witnesses's testimony. Once a witness has been impeached - by presentment of inconsistent testimony - the judge/jury can no longer use the impeached witnesses's testimony in reaching a verdict.
Simply put, they aren't trustworthy. In the case of Presidential impeachment that broad definition of impeachment applies, but the impeachment tool is used for a very different purpose. Under the Constitution, a sitting President cannot be tried in a court of law for anything.

First, if you believe “there certainly is” justification to #ImpeachTrump, then show me where in the Constitution you're required to reach a specific polling threshold.

Third, if you're focused on the polls, a majority of Democrats DO support impeachment. So there's that.
