Today a House subcommittee on oversight is meeting to discuss the recent report released by HHS which described the extent of trauma inflicted on children who were separated from their parents as a result of the Trump admin's zero tolerance policy.

The report covered visits to 45 Office of Refugee Resettlement sites; 100 mental health clinicians who provide care to UAC described what they heard:
Children cried inconsolably, believing parents abandoned them or were killed. At least one child thought he/she would be too.

Rep DeGette: "Every single separated child has been terrified. We are seen as the enemy.... one child told a clinician: “I cant feel my heart.”
