1. We should not be focusing on #ClimateChange. We should focus on #environmentalconservation. Leftists may not agree there’s a difference but there is. EC is focused on caring for the environment and making improvements conservatively over time. Climate change initiatives? No.
2. Where climate change apologists go wrong is in many factors. For starters, targeting the cattle industry because of flatulence is absurd. If nature didn’t have a way for handling these emissions then animals and humans wouldn’t have evolved the way they have.
3. To say that we need to modify our diets like @AndrewYang clarified to deter the cattle industry only hurts the agricultural economy which America depends upon for 100% of its food. Damaging that sector is tantamount to suicide by leftist ideology.

1/ Why are EKG waves named starting with the letter P? What happened to letters A through O?

I’m guessing you’ve probably never wondered this, but if you’re curious, here’s a brief historical #medthread / #tweetorial on how the EKG waves got the names they did.
2/ The first electrical tracings of the heart were obtained in 1887 by A.D. Waller, a British physiologist and physician, who used a Lippmann capillary electrometer to capture the tracings.

3/ As a physiologist, Waller labelled the two waves on his initial tracing V1 & V2 based on their site of anatomic origin- the ventricle. He would continue, often rather adamantly, to refer to the electrical waves as A, V1, & V2 throughout his career.

So...the answer was an MAO-I.
all the agents are ones to stop pre-op, but why was MAO-I the answer I was going for?? 1/x
First choice was Ephedra--definitely something to stop pre-op given it's sympathetic effect and risk of cardiovascular instability.
HOWEVER, Ephedra was banned by the FDA in 2/2004, so I haven't seen a patient on this in the preop setting in years 2/x
thinking about Ephedra is a good opportunity to this about herbal/nutraceutical/supplement management periop, given hypothetical or KNOWN risk of:
✅cytochrome up/down regulation
✅cardiovascular instability
✅changes to platelet/coagulation function
✅drug/drug interactions 3/x

⚓️Paramalignant eff: related to malignancy but not due to it eg: endobronchial obstruction or PE

Why is it important to diagnose #MPE?

While you ponder, LUNG and BREAST are commonest primaries metastatic to the pleural space! PMID: 24360987
#MPE = poor prognosis, change management & may help locate primary!

Ferrer (PMID: 15764788): >=4 of these strongly suggest #MPE:
a) Dyspnea, chest pain, constitutional sympt
b) Symptoms >1 mo
c) No fever
d) Blood-tinged #pleff
e) CT suggestive (mass, atelectasis, adenopathy)
