Just to make this crystal clear -- it is NOT the role of law schools to "produce" graduates of any particular ideological or methodological commitment.
And, I will add, that I imagine Ed would be absolutely outraged if he saw a liberal law professor say that she thought it was her job to convert law students to a particular ideology or methodology.
Another addition: Ed's claim about textualism is nonsense. Many (most??) law professors are textualists. Former law professor Elena Kagan is a committed textualist. But Ed isn't talking about nominating more Justice Kagans. He's talking about nominating conservatives.
