Good Wednesday morning. A few highlights from playbook to set the table today ...

@kyledcheney and @AndrewDesiderio make a good point. Yesterday was a bit meaningless from a procedural POV. But the politics are extremely important — and they’ve changed tremendously
The universe has shifted for house Dems. No longer is the leadership and majority of rank and file working at cross purpose.

House democrats now stand for impeaching President trump and the machinery of the entire caucus is rowing toward a vote to charge the president
Judiciary has the ball here w a close eye from pelosi. @BresPolitico has been saying this and he’s probably right: once this process starts there’s no stopping it. There’s gonna be a floor vote, barring something unforeseen.
There is risk for democrats here.

If the whistleblower report is a dud, Dems have to answer for why they did what they did.

Understanding the risk of looking completely obsessed w impeaching the president , nadler privately told Dems yesterday he wanted this done by years end
Here’s a bit of what the leadership is watching and what to expect going forward.
Dems have a messaging problem, as my terrific colleagues @sarahnferris and @heatherscope note.

Dems tell us they can’t get bogged down in process and need to stick to a message. Many say Nat security should be front and center.
Here’s what you should watch today. Dems are caucusing now. Rs are meeting too.

WH says they’ll release call transcript today, which they say will show trump did nothing wrong. Talks ongoing w whistleblower.
The White House is touting the transcript, which might or might not be the totality of the whistleblower complaint.
Tomorrow: big. Maguire will be on the hill.

Next two weeks: dead. House is going out and they aren’t canceling recess.
