The PR team of Thai dictator Prayut Chan-ocha has shared a photograph of him and his wife Naraporn at a bookshop at JFK airport, to give the impression that they are intellectuals. 1/6
Both of them are seen looking at books in the dreaded business management genre. Vast numbers of these books are published each year, claiming to offer profound insights but in fact just delivering a worthless mix of cod psychology and banal platitudes. 2/6
Let’s take a look at what they are reading:

Prayut is looking at “The Good Fight” by Liane Davey, a book which claims to explain how to “use productive conflict to get your team and organization back on track”. 3/6
He is probably looking for ways to justify his notorious bad temper and frequent tantrums.

4/6
Naraporn is looking at “Emotional Intelligence 2.0” by Travis Bradberry — “a step-by-step program for increasing your EQ via four skills that enable you to achieve your fullest potential: 1. Self-Awareness 2. Self-Management . Social Awareness
4. Relationship Management.”

5/6
She’s probably hoping to learn some skills she can teach her husband. 6/6
