There’s a lot of news and noise right now, so here is what you need to know about Trump’s approaching impeachment. Trump violated campaign finance and obstruction of justice laws by soliciting foreign (Ukrainian) interference in American elections and then trying to cover it up.
Trump treated the powers of the presidency as well as the federal government's diplomatic, intelligence, legal, and national security resources as tools to further his personal political interest rather than the national interest.
Trump usurped Congress's constitutional spending power by holding up a congressional defense appropriation to serve the same self-interest.
Trump ordered his private attorney to interfere with the foreign policy of the United States in violation of the Logan Act, which expressly prohibits private citizens from conducting diplomacy.
Trump then suggested that people who gave the whistleblower information are spies and traitors who should be killed.
And this is all *in addition to* the crimes detailed in the Mueller report, which shows that Trump invited Russian interference in the 2016 election and then tried to cover it up.

Watergate (Nixon) and lying about consensual sex with an intern (B. Clinton) pale in comparison.
These are crimes and threats to national security as well as to our democratic system. This shouldn’t be about partisan politics; impeachment is necessary and should be an easy, apolitical decision for everyone sworn to uphold the Constitution and laws of the United States.
Democrats in Congress should be thanked for doing their constitutional duty to check a lawless president, and Republicans in Congress should be voted out for continuing to kiss Trump’s ass and do nothing.
