ICYMI yesterday, there were some pretty mind-blowing things that Democrats said at MSNBC's gun forum.

First up, Kamala Harris endorsed confiscating "as many as 10 million" (!) guns in the U.S.
2/Julian Castro lumped our nation's police in with mass killers and criminals, saying "police violence is gun violence"
3/ Elizabeth Warren endorsed a limit on how many guns an American could buy to prevent "people from bulking up in the middle of a crisis" (whatever that means)

She then suggested these people should be flagged for law enforcement for no other reason than legally purchasing guns
4/ Joe Biden said he would set up a federal registry not only for some rifles, but also for individual magazines
5/ Castro also said he wants to make ammunition more expensive, penalizing law-abiding gun owners to pay for his gun control plan

August's jobs report shows that the U.S. economy continues to be strong under President Trump.

Let's take a look at the numbers:
2/ The unemployment rate continues to be at a historically low 3.7%

Reminder, the last time unemployment was this low before President Trump was **1969**
3/ Wages grew by 3.2 percent over the last year

This is the 13th month in a row where we've seen 3% or better wage growth

For all of the Obama Administration, we only saw 3 such months

First issue: Rents are too high. Ms. Goodman makes $9/hr but her rent was $950/month. That is 66% of her income. #KamalasPlan called the Rent Relief Act will provide a tax credit caps rent & utilities at 30%. Non-partisan analysis determined RRA will lift 7.8M ppl out of poverty
Second issue: Stagnant wages
#Kamala supports raising the min wage to $15/hr but additionally, #KamalasPlan the LIFT Act would put $6,000/yr ($500 can be accessed monthly) in Ms. Goodman's pockets. Non-partisan analysis determined the LIFT Act lifts 9.6M ppl out of poverty

I put these two together, because they're both about something I've been thinking about a lot: the way progressive Democrats and MAGA Republicans are becoming a sort of "bootleggers and Baptists" coalition.
That formulation comes from an old public choice article which points out that bootleggers and anti-alcohol crusaders in dry counties actually need each other. Without the bootleggers, crusaders would have no cause; without the Baptists, the bootleggers would have no market.

2\ If we withhold information, 1 of 2 things might happen:

A) We don't delegate and end up doing things we shouldn't be doing because "my direct report doesn't know enough". We don't realize that we're making them not know enough and adding us more work that we could...
3\ ... use for doing other things that we should be doing.

B) We're making it harder for our direct reports to talk to other people directly to get shit done, and in turn, make them always come to us to know who to go to.
