tl;dr – after the US halted the aid, Ukraine caved and agreed to the LNG plan, and an LNG contract was signed with Poland's gas company, PGNiG.
But guess what? That deal WASN'T with Ukraine's state-owned gas company.
Instead, Poland signed the LNG contract with Energy Resources of Ukraine, a private American-Ukrainian company.
