Yeah...... I still take issue with Natives and the descendants of enslaved Africans in the US being disappeared into "American" identity when we haven't been considered or treated as Americans the vast majority of time we've been here. I think it's ethnic erasure.
"American" is an identity that was created by European colonizers and understood to apply only to white people. The issue of whether or not this identity extends to non-white people in this nation is still an ongoing one. See: 45 administration
This is why Black American for me is not a hyphenate, nor does it speak solely to race or nationality but to a particular experience & ethnic group.

(FYI isn't about Harris nor do I agree w/ the questioning of her ethnicity. This is in response to ID'ing us as "black Americans"

My favorite site for people watching on a regular basis is the Delhi Metro that I ride as much as I can for my work commute. I’ve had fun people watching all over the world, but one place that gave me some good guiding principles for the activity was Maastricht. 2/

This is just one of the marine diesel generators that live in the lowest basement. The site has its own dual redundant HV feed, and operate their own HV/LV transformer kit. They take ~600 litres of oil, and are regularly tested.
To power those, they need a load of fuel. There’s a tank like this for each generator, and they hold enough red diesel for 8 hours. An additional huge set of tanks sit behind which receive fuel deliveries from a tanker connection outside the building.

Now the obvious question: Why would anyone do this?

Well for starters it's still better than a coding job back home. My first job building websites was for $7/hour.

That was in high school.
I eventually got better jobs, yes. Mostly thanks to moving into freelancing, being picky about clients, and choosing to work for foreign clients (primarily US startup land) whenever possible.

That got me to about $70,000/year. It was great. Lived like a king.

Deep down I have always wanted this to be true, I am also introverted and honestly everybody & their dogs are out there with personal brands via @YouTube
Adding to this: I think that building a personal brand around your product e.g. I do #advertising, so I am going to tweet about ads, makes more sense than making it all about me and being a 'celebrity' it's just not practical.
All of the beauty girls on Instagram are all posting about how they do they make up and then selling that makeup - makes sense right? So why would you post about anything else if it's not to promote your #income. Just my 2c on the matter :D
