Yes, we wouldn't be worried about this if we'd gotten electoral reform.
But we've got the system we've got, and we have to work within that system to make things better.

No party is perfect. None of them meet my specific priority issues in exactly the way I want, and I don't expect them to. I just want a government that works for and not against my major concerns.

And I think that Liberal and NDP MPs, and to a lesser extent Greens, will work for and not against my major pet issues, even if we may disagree on execution.

That's why I have zero problems with voting for either party if they can beat the Con in my riding.

Because we will see progress on progressive issues, probably imperfect progress, but progress all the same, if Liberals and NDP are strong in the house and the Cons are weak.

NDP & Green are going to have to deal with the fact that an environmental plan requires a transition, and we still have to move that oil. Liberals will have to deal with the fact that more aggressive climate change schedule is needed.

Cons won't deal with it at all.

In the Ontario provincial election I was proud to vote for the NDP candidate in my riding because she was best situated to beat the Con, and she did. She's a good and highly competent MPP and I'm glad to have her represent me.

In this election I will vote for my local Liberal candidate because she is best situated to beat the Con. I voted for her in 2015 as well, and I'm glad to have her represent me.

Both of those ridings are too tight to call, & yet have a clear majority of progressive voters.

There are other ridings in Toronto, Edmonton, & more where Liberal voters should absolutely go NDP if they want to help a Liberal agenda. Check your local polls

But above all else, don't let anyone tell you that a strategic vote isn't the same as voting your conscience.

Preventing a Conservative government is highest priority for this conscientious progressive voter.
