The thing with answering any interview question whether a job or even a scholarship, you need to choose the right focus. You need to choose how best or how well you should answer whatever they ask you. Be intentional!!!

Do's of answering "Tell me about yourself" question:
1. Focus on your experiences, accomplishments, and strengths that relate specifically to the job.

Don't
Give your life story. You are not at the interview to tell unnecessary LG (long gist).

Stay Focused and Be Relevant
Do
Give a quick overview of your greatest key achievements and strengths as regards your past job experiences or even in your academics or whatever you are very confident of which you consider as a great achievement.

Always be prepared and enter into the room with a positive vibe. This tip is not just for jobs but also for scholarship interviews.
Have a precise, well-prepared and well-practiced answers. There're basic interview questions you can find online. Stay enlightened not frightened

Don't forget the two ways (SOAR & STAR) to answer behavioral interview questions:
SOAR---It means that you describe the situation, objective or obstacle, action and results.
Some recruiters refer to this as the STAR---which is situation, task, action and results
