Radical activists & their sympathizers will get any speaker they don't like kicked off campus, then out of the library & all other public venues. When the speaker is then denied private venue rentals, ppl will just say "they're a private business, they don't have to rent to you"
As I wrote many months ago,

"While we have largely seen the battles for free speech and open inquiry take place on university campuses, we may need to start shifting our focus to the newest target: Canada’s public libraries."

tnc.news/2019/01/17/she…
And look: 2 petitions are out right now. #1 is to deplatform a panel with Meghan Murphy at SFU (change.org/p/simon-fraser…), #2 is to deplatform her at Toronto Public Library (change.org/p/toronto-publ…)

In #1, 22/23 initial signatories are female. In #2, 3/3 are female.
And in Petition #1, 8 initial signatories are librarians.
That is worrisome.
Imagine Meghan Murphy releases a book (I hope she does!) -- will university libraries or public libraries even stock her book?
Though I should give credit to public libraries, as so far Vancouver Public Library and Toronto Public Library do not seem to be fully capitulating to the mob
