it's interesting A/Bing the promotion of indie arcade puzzle games vs. STG, many of the puzzle devs go super casual when they should probably go niche whereas STG devs often think their casual game needs to win over hardcore players when they could ignore them & sacrifice nothing
there are many STG that come & go without any sort of acknowledgment from hardcore circles that do just as well or better than games they rally behind—not good ones, necessarily, but the point is there's a non-negligible amount of ppl buying them outside of the perceived market
(oops, sidetracked)

otoh, of the massive audience that shows up for the new Tetris or whatever, only a tiny % is going to be actively trawling for new games in that style, or even a single other game; IP collabs are so common in the genre bc they're the tactic that still works

I really hope someone's able to get Nintendo's Hitoshi Yamagami on the record about his history as their go-to puzzle game dude someday—he was Gunpei Yokoi's right-hand on Dr. Mario & he's designed, directed and/or produced almost every Nintendo puzzle game you've enjoyed since

various Nintendo-published Tetris games including 99, DS & 2/Flash (which might be why it resembles Dr. Mario)

ofc that's not to suggest he's primarily or solely responsible for the design of every one of those games, but some tangential interviews reference Yamagami as someone viewed as having a knack for puzzle design & that it's a passion for him, not just a niche he found himself in

Nintendo Japan's Indie World team interviewed creator Makoto Wada of Ancient corp. about Susume!! Mamotte Knight🇯🇵
for the production of Mamotte Knigt's dot art, Wada uses the 2D animation software he cooked up way back in 1997 it ensures a certain degree of authenticity to the art but he also has to worry about it breaking whenever there's a Windows update
some prototype images from the experimental stage of the first Mamotte Knight (Protect Me Knight); Wada's an artist by trade but he learned C from scratch at age 30 in order to make his own games, and he's responsible for pretty much every element of production aside from sound

Here’s Pete in 2018 declaring “most affirmatively & indubitably, unto the ages, that I do favor Medicare for All.” He invoked his longstanding support back to 2004. He supported M4A when he started running. Then he raised a ton of health industry cash. Now he runs ads against it.
So Pete supported Medicare for All for 15 years, then flipped and started attacking other Dems over it after raising a ton of money from the health care industry. A reasonable person might conclude that the health care industry bought Pete’s opposition - and did so pretty easily.
Pete is welcome to change his position and explain why. But he is using a campaign funded in significant part by the health care industry to run ads attacking other Dems for holding a position he himself held for 15 years, and defended as recently as 2018.

She is an agent of Good, after all, and the creature is quivering, like it is cold, perhaps, or afraid.

So she goes to it.
