For those of you who aren't caught up on X-Men: all of the mutants are literally immortal now and live on a mutant island that grows houses and portals. Cyclops, Jean and Wolverine have joined rooms in a house on the moon and seem to be polyamorous. It kinda rules.
I love that Hickman took the problem of comic deaths being meaningless and just amplified it. When the X-Men die now they respawn almost immediately. Same with the dumb love triangle it's like, who cares, maybe they can just screw each other.
There are some big ideas about advanced societies collapsing into black holes that link with each other and transcend time and space to form an immortal A.I. collective.

Also Kitty Pryde captains a pirate ship.
The comics are basically weekly now and it's really fun to keep up and read the forum threads after each issue, every Wednesday feels like we're all collectively solving a mystery. This is the most fun I've ever had with comic books.

For the first time on the internet, here's a from-emulator video of Super Gun, one of the rarest games for the original NES! We just helped to extract the data for this, but we had to find a REALLY weird workaround (thread):
Super Gun was released around 1992 as a standalone, commercial cartridge by a company called NTDEC. It even came in multiple variations: the 60-pin Famicom version here is the only one I can find a picture of, but there was also a 72-pin NES release in some places.
If you're familiar with the American library for the system you probably haven't heard of NTDEC, but maybe you HAVE heard of its short-lived American counterpart, Caltron? Its "unlicensed" 6-in-1 compilation is one of the hardest games in the set.

If I've learned anything from my weeks of poking at this list, it's that magazines are alarmingly bad at having websites.
The split between "Wow, there's four dedicated Fortnite magazines, how interesting!" and "I am mad that there are four Fortnite magazines because I hate kids or whatever" is currently 50/50
The Fortnite magazines are really interesting! A lot of it comes from a publisher in Lisbon, and is syndicated and translated by publishers. There are two unique English translations of some of them!

Hey, I'm seeing this a lot in my mentions so I wanted to clarify some things:

We've always known Terry was selling the Nintendo PlayStation system. He's never been shy about this, he's been saying for years that this was always his intent. (thread)
Did you never stop to wonder why Terry and this system are at just about every retro video game show? Why this guy is proudly touring this around? It's because - and this is straight from him - he's increasing the system's value by keeping it in the spotlight.
Every selfie anyone has ever taken with the unit and posted on the internet, every tweet about it, every time people get him to sign their games (they really do this) - this is all playing in to Terry getting the highest price he can for this one-of-a-kind artifact.

Yoongi quickly turns around –not quite quick enough as he has had the time to see Seokjin's toned stomach– and his cheeks turn a bright and burning red.

The other doesn't know if it's an authorization or an invitation but whatever it is, he lets out a deep breath and turns back around to face Seokjin. An almost-naked Seokjin, muscular but lean Seokjin, god those THIGHS Seokjin, and all above else smiling brightly Seokjin.

Ok, I think I can get together my thoughts on Uncanny 11-22. This thread is about my reading of the story; what I think the story was trying to accomplish and why I think it succeeded; also why I think that success was in part responsible for some of the mixed reaction to it.
This thread will not be about the massive problem in #17; I'm not the person best suited to discuss that, and I think those who are best suited have already very completely, clearly, and excellently unpacked just why it was so harmful.
I also won't be addressing the problem with fridging a large number of women and PoC; again, I don't have anything useful to add to that conversation.

Those are the two huge problems with the run, and they're going to mar it forever, unfortunately. I hope (though I doubt) that

#NowWatching “X-Men.”

A film franchise with a complicated, but surprisingly important legacy.

Although there were obviously superhero films before, and films like “Blade” are often overlooked, “X-Men” is ground zero for the modern superhero boom.
Of course, it is, quite rightly, impossible to talk about the series without acknowledging that Bryan Singer is a well-documented sexual predator.

This informs the films’ legacy, although it seems under-discussed compared to the emergence of the MCU.
