In the Benn Act, if Europe offers January 31st, we accept it.
That would seem to satisfy what Labour means by extension being in place. Once it becomes legally active.
Because the only problem I can see after that is if Johnson tried to postpone election day till after the extension.
But you can't postpone election day once the dissolution takes effect.
So he would have to postpone the dissolution. And that would allow vote of no confidence
As for trying to guard against a no deal Brexit AFTER the election - you can't.
All you can do is make sure we're still in Europe until after the election.
