See, I think people's language is part of the problem.
Let's set the scene. Johnson wants a general election. There's always a few days between the vote for an election and the dissolution of parliament

And people think Johnson will use that period between the vote and the dissolution to

People are using the internet to write this shit, but they won't use it to look anything up.

You can't use those few days between the cote and the dissolution to pass complex legislation.
You cannot use it for that.

But what I've noticed is that people use language to nurture their own ignorance.

"Sneak through" doesn't mean anything, but what it does do is cover up the parliamentary process for passing legislation.

And people did exactly the same when they accused Johnson of trying to "ram" the same Bill through parliament last week.

One week he's trying to ram it through, and the next he's trying to sneak it through.

You can no more sneak a Bill through parliament than you can ram it. These verbs are meaningless.
The government can't pass complex legislation in the period between voting for an election and the subsequent dissolution.

Nor can the government change the date of an election after parliament has been dissolved

What's going to happen now is that Europe will decide on our extension request. If they agree to January 31st, Johnson will ask for a general election.
The election will then be held on December 12th.
Parliament should be dissolved no later than November 6th.

And the withdrawal agreement will not be voted on again until after the general election, if at all, depending on who wins.

We will be in the European Union when parliament is dissolved.
We will continue to be in the European Union throughout the election campaign.
And we will still be in the European union when the new parliament is sworn in.

After that it depends what government we elect.
