He's also donated in recent months primarily to Republicans, but also Dem Rep. Cedric Richmond.

Their lawyer says they won't answer questions designed to ID the whistleblower.

JUST IN: Mulvaney has joined the lawsuit with Bolton’s deputy seeking a judge’s ruling on whether he must respond to a subpoena from House impeachment investigators.
HUH: The Mulvaney subpoena was issued on Nov. 7 ... but signed on Nov. 4.
One reason Mulvaney’s case differs from Kupperman’s: Mulvaney isn’t strictly speaking a national security official.

Kupperman (and Bolton) argue their jobs were so sensitive that “absolute immunity” clearly applies to them. But that’s not necessarily true for other officials.

“During my time at the NSC, I received multiple calls from lobbyist Robert Livingston, who told me that Ambassador Yovanovitch should be fired," Croft plans to say. "He characterized Ambassador Yovanovitch as an 'Obama holdover' and associated with George Soros.“
It's unknown if Livingston's calls to the NSC were connected in any way to his work for the Ukrainian official or his firm's contact with Giuliani.
