1) Some thoughts on Fitbit: this is a cheap acquisition (1.5x sales) but will do little for Google. Google’s overall hardware strategy is still inferior to Apple’s. I actually wrote about this last week in ‘Why Semiconductor Development Matters’

2) AirPods Pro with ‘AR audio’ reveal this best. Why? Because Google can’t and will never be able to build integrated SoCs — AirPods show this today, but the lack of UWB (for spatial awareness) in the new Pixel best exemplifies how they are still 2-3 years behind.
3) But people can’t see this yet... The next consumer hardware platform (read The Internet’s Next Act) will require a total rewiring of how bits adjust to atoms. You have to lay the groundwork with hardware (chips) 2-3 years ahead.

4) People love to claim smartphone innovation is over. Very wrong. Why? Standalone peripherals (glasses, audio) must have new chips, data movement protocols and on-device intelligence. The ‘ah ha’ moment for the next consumer platform will reveal all this. Until then...

2. Tesla’s and Waymo’s (and startups’) challenges are multi-dimensional. All are racing to get to consumer cars, build the tech, find distribution and avoid strategy taxes. But it’s going to become clear everyone will ditch LiDAR within 3 years.
3. LiDAR will not fail because it’s expensive in isolation, but because image recognition will be ‘as good’ and no one will make money off trying to create solid state LiDAR (very tough problem).

If you have never thought about it, pls do so today.... Where is the other half of that aluminum ladle or spoon??? Unlike the "dad3s3n" which was a cast iron pot (still inferior to the Clay pot, but more later) these aluminum cooking pots are a serious health hazard.
The proof is very simple. Break (so there is no metal contact) fresh kontomire into 3 cooking pots containing water. One clay, one cast iron (or stainless steel) and one aluminum pot. Boil for 10 mins. Remove samples from each & place on a clean white cloth to inspect ...

#Google claims they’re not working with #China’s military, but they are through a top Chinese university that took major funding from the CCP to advance the Chinese military’s AI goals.

It’s part of China’s overall world domination goal, the AI goal to be completed by 2030.
China has utilized their “Thousand Talents” program to recruit people who’ve gained knowledge in specific industries in the west to help advance the Communist party’s objectives.
In this case, they’ve collaborated with Google’s head of AI, Jeff Dean, who is also a member of CCP-funded Tsinghua University’s computer science advisory committee.

You have to adjust for name recognition, though. Biden, at just south of 30 percent, is still something like a 2:1 underdog. And Bernie's position at 20 percent, as I wrote yesterday, is tenable but not great.
Per the chart above, Buttigieg's position is roughly as good as Bernie's on a "polls only" basis, or maybe a bit better. Empirically, you'd slightly prefer to be polling at ~10% with low name recognition than ~20% with high name recognition.
