Has Trump said publicly (and repeatedly) that he likes how Scalia saw the law? Let's find out:
By Scalia’s reading of the term “corruptly,” the position taken by Sen. Kennedy (R-LA) will require him to argue there was *no advantage* Trump could've received from investigations of his two chief political rivals that would've been inconsistent with his official duty as POTUS.
The reason that will be *exquisitely* hard is that one of the *chief duties* Trump has as president is releasing funds already appropriated by Congress. So his *obvious* personal benefit—in seeking probes of Clinton and Biden—was *literally* inconsistent with the duty he has/had.
Moreover, there's *zero* evidence Trump has *ever* sought a corruption investigation of *any* American—let alone held up aid for this reason—*other* than his two chief political rivals, making it *impossible* for him to credibly argue that he saw doing this as part of his "duty."

All the evidence—there's now a mountain of it—suggests Flynn told Trump in August 2015 at Trump Tower that his friends the Ledeens, working with Bill Lofgren (ex-CIA official focused on Russia), had determined the Russians had Clinton's emails. That's why Trump fawned over Putin.
1/ When it became clear Russia was helping his campaign, Trump *maintained* his belief that the Kremlin had Clinton's emails but began formulating a counter-theory—that he would present publicly—that would please the Kremlin: that Ukraine had them. This was *during the campaign*.
2/ The same people who believed the Kremlin had Trump's emails *beginning in June 2015*—including Flynn, Prince, Bannon, and later Manafort—participated in the scam theory that in fact maybe a different foreign nation (namely, Ukraine) had them and was colluding with Clinton.

1/ There's a lot of critical information in the BUZZFEED Mueller Memo dump (from the FBI), and much of it corroborates and confirms the allegation that Erik Prince committed perjury before Congress. But the most shocking information involves Barbara/Michael Ledeen and Mike Flynn.
2/ In June 2015, Michael Ledeen and Flynn were working on a book together. Meanwhile, Michael's wife Barbara was pitching Steve Bannon on a massive hunt to find Clinton's emails to destroy her political campaign. Ledeen uses the term "we" to describe her plan to work with Bannon.

1/ A key premise of PROOF OF CONSPIRACY was that the Mueller Report *didn't* include 90% of the intelligence the Special Counsel compiled. The FBI data-dump—in addition to everything else—*confirmed* that the Mueller Report was just the tip of an iceberg we still haven't seen.
2/ What PROOF OF CONSPIRACY did—in 600 pages, with 400 additional pages of digital endnotes—was fill in the 90% of the case file that's been redacted in a joint effort by the FBI's criminal and counterintelligence divisions. Much of what lies behind the redactions is in the book.

Apropos of a lot of things, I'd like to mention one of the many reasons I was (and am) a huge fan of the late Justice Antonin Scalia: The man was a devout believer in the Confrontation Clause.
Everything is more muddled than it was before, but for a very long time, the stereotypes -- which existed for good reasons -- were that conservatives/Republicans were "tough on crime" and Democrats were "soft on crime."
As with most stereotypes, these things obscured a great deal even as they expressed relevant shorthands. But Justice Scalia -- whatever his personal temperament -- always chose the Constitution's text and meaning as his lodestar, and his Confrontation Clause work is proof.
