5'7" and 80kg.
45m to go.
5 England players lining you up.
1 Springbok running support.
Ball above your head.
What do you do?
@Cheslin_Kolbe11 #sprinboks #RWCFinal #StrongerTogether
1. Catch ball without loosing any speed.
Do this by jumping, keeping the outside line with your feet and hips, only turning your shoulders and head inwards.
Note: if you don't do this, if you don't jump, you'll loose speed and get absolutely mauled by 5 really big guys.
2.Look inside to sum up the pace and potential pace of each individual defender.
Establish that there are essentially two you need to beat.
3. Set the first defender by doing a 'jumping goose step'.
It must be good enough to have him put on the breaks despite having 3 supporting players on his inside.
4. Once the 1st defender is set you need to set the 2nd one, but there is only 1 way to do this: Accelerate towards touch with the 3 meters at your disposal and make him believe you're going on the outside.
You must make him believe, so your body weight and hips NEED to sell it.
5. Step off your right.
Note: you need incredible strength in your leg and ankle to do this and your body weight needs to be perfectly balanced, without compromising the previous 'sell'.
6. Break the tackle of the much bigger defender.
While you do that, scan the inside to establish the next threat.
7. Use your pace to eliminate remaining threats.
and watch the replay for the rest of your life
