As Twitter provides a “free service” it doesn’t directly come under the purview of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
But there’s a catch - if you “promote” even 1 of your tweets by paying money, you become a consumer & Twitter becomes a “service provider”.

I’ve been seeing a lot of tweets about people whose accounts have been locked in a biased manner because they’re against the ruling party.
This is unacceptable. Twitter India’s management should keep their bias at home when they leave for office.

Over the next few weeks, I intend to create a list of cases where prominent anti-BJP accounts on Twitter have been suspended or locked for frivolous reasons.
And for this I need help - I need someone who can document these cases into a single file.

The next step then is to post these “objectionable” tweets & spend a few rupees promoting them. That automatically turns the relationship with Twitter into that of a consumer-service provider.
Then, Twitter can be dragged to consumer tribunals around the country.

Of course this can all be avoided if Twitter gets its act together & stops working as an agent of the Modi govt.

Therefore, I’d request any person (whoever can) to take charge & create a documentation of all prominent accounts that got locked or suspended for frivolous reasons.

Twitter India’s management cannot exhibit a bias against certain categories of people no matter how much they love the Modi govt.
And if they’re willing to keep pushing their bias, we’re also happy to seek accountability through the law of the land.
