Many questions have been asked and answered by people with 0 knowledge so here's some light on the topic of travel Visas:

a thread from someone who applied for a dozen of them in 9 years in the Middle-east & EU, and having gotten 2 EU residency permits and renewed them 6 times.
What are Visas?

Visas are travel permits issued by the "desired to be visited" nation's consulate.

They come with variables:

# of entries (how many times you can exit & enter the country)

Length of stay (days to months to years)

Purpose (Studies, work, meetings, tourism)
Who needs a visa to where?

It all depends on your passport.
If you're from the USA, Canada, EU, CH, Singapore, Japan, South-Korea, Commonwealth, then you can usually go to most places for business & tourism.

If you're from other places like me, tough luck, you need paperwork.
Tourism, Work, Student & Business Visas - What's required?

Tourism is the base, most consulates take 2-4 weeks tops to give you a response.
Photo, proof of residence, 3 month bank account check, proof of work/guarantor, hotel/contact info, flight itinerary & travel itinerary
On top of those for tourism (+ fees) you need an invitation from a local company & travel guarantee from your employer for a Business Visa which are used for tourism AND business meetings where you do not get paid directly to perform (you are not "WORKING" for a local company).
Student visas require an invitation from a local University/School, your grades history, any course equivalence between curriculums, Scholarship/Grant, base cash amount & residence rental prospects.
Work visas are similar to Student ones requiring a work contract, company information and a work permit that usually takes 2-3 months to issue since hiring foreign specialists over locals is something that usually requires government approval.
Now different countries define esports in different ways, some don't have a legal notion of it so applying for Tourist/Business visas is enough, some define it as a sports competition so might require permits since you're technically "earning prize money" in said country
exceptions are always made so pro players applying for visas from LATAM, Turkey, Africa, India, China, Russia & the Middle-East countries need to prove that they Work under X esports organization and have been invited by the TO & even game studio for said event.
ALWAYS use this.
Usually consulates want to be sure that you Work & make a living in your country of residence, things to return to and that you have the cash in your bank account with regular income & a backer/invitation taking care of you, flights, hotel etc.

Every word you say matters.
