This report is bit confusing to me.

Bolton would testify if district court holds against McGahn?

What if McGahn appeals (up to Supreme Court)?

If Supreme Court rules against McGahn, that’s not ‘defying White House’ to wait until then to testify.

WaPo also says if House were to subpoena Bolton, he’d go to court. Wouldn’t he then appeal if district court ruled he should/could testify?

Post also says: “the court battle over congressional subpoenas will probably go to the Supreme Court and spill into next year.”

So...
So ... I don’t get how this supports opening paragraph saying:

“Bolton is willing to defy the White House and testify in the House impeachment inquiry about his alarm at the Ukraine pressure campaign if A FEDERAL COURT clears the way.”

President of the United States’ personal lawyer successfully sought out fugitive oligarch Firtash—with reported ties to Putin—for dirt on Biden in exchange for trying to get Firtash off hook with Barr.

Firtash paid diGenova-Toensing $1.2m—Giuliani said needed them for the deal.

The $1.2million included "a portion set aside as something of a referral fee for Mr. Parnas," according to what Firtash told the Times.

(Reuters and WSJ had already reported Parnas worked with Firtash's legal team of Toensing and diGenova; they said as an "interpreter".)

Cooper's info was brand new to the public. It was not included in Cooper's deposition. (One of the values of the impeachment inquiry is revelation of new facts, as with Watergate.)

1. #McGahn case now makes three cases #SCOTUS can tee up to rule on by the time we hold the impeachment trial:

1. McGahn on the total immunity claim;

2. Vance grand jury on power of states over sitting president;

3. House Mazars case on Congress' power to get tax returns.
2. That pretty much covers the issues.

I went back to US v Nixon case where #SCOTUS ruled against Nixon on the White House tapes. I was curious how long it took.

The case was an appeal from Judge Sirica's district court order on a subpoena. He entered it on May 20, 1974.
3. Cert was granted on June 15, 1974. SCOTUS ruled on the case on July 24, 1974. Sixteen days later, Nixon resigned August 9, 1974.

If Roberts drags this out he will own all of Trump's crimes. His name will be infamous. I think he'l rule fast.

@alahav 1/. Fascinating issue! Putting aside the merits, this is exactly the kind of case where a nationwide injunction is inappropriate. The rights at issue are divisible. The court could’ve easily issued a plaintiff-oriented injunction protecting only rights of parties before it.
@alahav 2/ In terms of appeal, any beneficiary who stands to lose benefits if the statute goes unenforceable would have standing. Same for public interest groups. State standing is a little more debatable but good arguments can be made for it under precedent.
@alahav 3/ A denial of a motion to intervene is appealable, if the district court rules on it. A party could try filing a notice of appeal along with a motion to intervene, with the motion explaining intervention is for the purpose of filing that notice and litigating the appeal.

A Massachusetts District Court Judge and Trial Court Officer were indicted today in federal court in Boston on obstruction of justice charges for preventing an ICE Officer from taking custody of an alien defendant.

"The audio recording captured Joseph, the defense attorney and the ADA speaking at side bar about the defendant and the ICE detainer. Joseph then allegedly ordered the courtroom clerk to “go off the record for a moment.”
"For the next 52 seconds, the courtroom audio recorder was turned off, in violation of the District Court rules. At 2:51 p.m., the recorder was turned back on, and Joseph indicated her intent to release the defendant. "

 Many news sites refer to Badwan as either a protestor or a demonstrator who was shot and killed by the #IDF. The photo on the left, from the DailyMail, states Badwan is a protestor. The photo on the right from CGTN states Badwan is a protestor as well.

 The problem is Badwan wasn’t there to protest in the way most people think. This video was taken Friday afternoon at the Karni crossing where Palestinians were clashing w/ #IDF soldiers. At the end, you can see Badwan being evacuated after getting shot by the #IDF.
