That man on the right is anti-LGBT hate leader Brian Brown, meeting with US Supreme Court justices Kavanaugh and Alito aa they decide whether people can be fired for being LGBT.

Brown is heavily involved in Russia, and supports its anti-gay laws (which have proven deadly).
Brian Brown "went to Moscow in October 2013 to lobby against same-sex couples adopting children and to attend a roundtable on 'traditional values.' Brown addressed a Duma committee, saying that, 'Every child should have the right to normal parents.'"

The National Org for Marriage, which Brown heads, has long used debunked stats to make its case against gay families, absurdly claiming that 29% of children of "homosexuals" are molested by their parents & are 50x more likely to engage in parental incest.

GOP starts off with Devin Nunes ' undemocratic talking points, going on about the "corrupt media" and the "Russia hoax" and lying about "nude photos of Trump." Response to Adam Schiff laying out the facts. This is Trump worship. Ugly, but not "both sides." #ImpeachmentDay
Facts on the "nude photos" claim. Russian pranksters called Adam Schiff claiming to have nude photos of Trump, & suggested Putin had them and was holding them over Trump's head.

Schiff told the prankster to turn their materials over to the FBI and the committee.
If it were true, that may have corroborated part of the Steele dossier that said Putin had video of Trump and prostitutes that he using to blackmail Trump.

Schiff wasn't hunting; he got a call with a claim, told the caller to turn them over.

No one "wants" nude photos of Trump.

A woman, and a 14-year-old civil rights era murder victim.
I suppose I should apologize for thinking I could post about a woman who is a recording artist and a black child who was murdered by white supremacists and not be guilty of the sin of not centering Bernie Sanders.

And I'm not the only one.

This is ridiculous, guys. Stop it.
By the way, if any candidate had a right to complain about not being the center of attention, it'd be Kamala Harris.

But women, and especially black women, don't get to play victim when they aren't in the spotlight. They just put their hands to the gears and keep working.

I'm a sociologist who studies adolescent sexual violence. On this thread, I will be live tweeting the #Kavanaugh hearing, chiming in with sociological insights and research findings.
Full disclosure--I will probably step away for parts of it. While many conservatives have cast feminists as people who rejoice at allegations of sexual assault against powerful men, this is a painful process for us. We know survivors. We are survivors. And I will need breaks.
It does not bode well that the beginning of this hearing is starting with equating #Kavanaugh and #Ford's experiences with harassment following Dr. Ford's allegations. They are absolutely not the same.
