They gave us their original materials on their blog post ages ago. You can see they absolutely did intensely degrain it.

The materials weren't interlaced in the first place. The wobble is caused by their intense DNR process blending the grain movement into the underlying image.

Here's an example from the Level Sets that use the same masters, just without the ridiculously destructive DNR. As you can see, the shading doesn't wobble.

Anything from the Cell arc onwards is a watery mess when it comes to the line work. Your Orange Bricks literally have better line clarity, let alone something like the Dragon Box.

Because these are just the Season Sets uncropped with some colour adjustments. You can compare the DNR defects and they're identical. If the grain was real, it wouldn't move independently from the dancing shading, either.

I can add my own fake grain to the season sets and it just looks like the 30th's results.

So yeah, these sets are as fucked as they were back when they first revealed them. They broke the clouds, the shading, the line work, the background textures... the list goes on. It's a terrible release from any objective standpoint.

If you bought these and you're happy with them IN SPITE of the issues, then I'm happy for you. I appreciate owning the series in 4:3 at a reasonable price is like finding a needle in a haystack. I just don't want misinformation spread about their quality. That helps nobody.
