Think about excuses you give repeatedly in varying versions for not addressing growth-limiting behaviour. E.g. the two I used a lot before = I don't understand finances; running is not for me;
If it sounds like an excuse ACT!
There are repeated stories you spin and tell yourself and others for not taking action. E.g. I have tried that before and it didn't work; In my family we are all like that;
If it sounds like a story ACT!
Pep talk is supposed to spur you to action. Unhelpful pep talk we give ourselves instead of acting keeps things as they are. E.g. s*it happens to me all the time; whatever comes will come;
If your pep talk doesn't get you moving CHANGE IT!
We hold onto past baggage like a lifeline and use as labels or part of introducing ourselves to others instead of letting go. E.g. You know us who were hurt; it's because of where I grew up; I blame my ex!
Do deep healing, keep the lesson & LET GO!
There are life experiences you have given Mt Everest proportion size in your life. E.g. that one break up; an argument; what a parent did; a missed opportunity;
HONOR the experience, but LOCATE IT PROPERLY in your current reality.
There are comfort zones that do not challenge us to change, innovate or try. E.g. I like this job; we have been together for so long; it's an awful area but I'm used to it; he says he won't do it again.
If it feels like comfy old shoes CHANGE IT!
There are bad behaviours we regress into for comfort when we don't want to face reality or act. E.g. you know I only do this when upset; I need this to get over the sadness;
If it's bad behaviour that does not help you grow CHANGE IT!
There are places both physical and invisible that we go to when we don't want to hide from taking action. E.g. our thoughts; a daydream; maybe a room in the house; a visit to the parents or sibling;
If you are hiding STOP AND ACT!
This is a common crutch for most of us. We lean on people to a point that it removes our ability to act on our own. E.g. driving or cars things; money for bills; domestic work or childcare; financial management;
Its ok to get help, but also LEARN!
