Seems like these elections advocates pretty clearly broke the law on who can be in polling places and interact with machines. Not clear why it’s so shocking they’d get investigated for this.
You can't show up at polling locations unannounced. Georgia — like many states — has clear regulations for who can be a poll watcher and who can observe voting in polling locations.
If pollworkers, who likely have no idea who these people are, were alarmed that some folks showed up unannounced at the polls and hung out for an hour and a half, then it seems like the poll worker was right to raise an alarm bell.
Georgia does not allow non-partisan poll watchers on election day, so even the process that DeMillo describes in this article is not in keeping with the law.

I mean, you can quibble with that law if you want but they broke it. Unclear why that's not mentioned in the article.
And here we are. Photos of them standing over machines in restricted areas, via @stphnfwlr. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ gpbnews.org/post/georgia-v…
These rules are in place for a reason and these activists would be alarmed if different actors could physically access the machines in the way they did in the polling place.
