Am I extremely tired or is there not a single female speaking character in the first episode of #Mandelorian?? I've gotta have missed something right???
I guess Jon Favreau was like "well if we just make all the vehicles female like the ship and the Blurrg then we're good right? That's just the right amount of 'female'".
It feels especially jarring given how much the recent films have done to amplify women and women of colour who have been historically marginalized in the franchise.
I still feel like I just forgot an entire scene and that in this year of our Lord 2019 an epic blockbuster television show could not be released without any female speaking parts.
Shout out to @JaydedAustin for reminding me of the one scene that had a female character. Lol. Sigh. STILL.

Wow. Nearly 3000 replies because one woman voices her opinion that we shouldn’t be at a point anymore where we just accept media that normalizes patriarchy. Cool cool cool. Everyone’s having a normal one I see.
Most mass media overwhelmingly centers men, and perpetuates patriarchy. The #Mandalorian is no exception. It wastes no time in establishing a patriarchal setting: the bartender is a man, the bar patrons are men, the cab driver is a man, etc. The first “female” we meet is the ship
It may introduce a few significant female characters later on. Great. It doesn’t change the fact it perpetuates and normalizes patriarchy. We all accept patriarchy in our mass media without batting an eye. When someone calls it out, we get upset. I wonder why.

Video Games are having a #metoo moment. The toxicity from fans has been well documented for years but the toxic, abusive, predatory behavior between developers has mostly been spoken in whispers between trusted friends. I'm in awe of the bravery of those who have spoken up today.
Their bravery is going to give courage to other women and non-binary folks to speak up and you can rest assured that this is a massive problem affecting and caused by the developers who make the games you love.

So let me remind you: Believe women
This is a time when all the men who claim to be allies get to show their real values. If you work with or are in communities with predatory men speak up, speak to management, voice your concerns, demand consequences for predatory behavior.

Lunch recess in #KeithDavisJr trial. This morning yet more Brady violations came to light. State did not notify defense that in 2017, one of the firearms examiners was removed from casework for failure to perform his job.
After motions, jury heard from the first crime scene tech to arrive on the scene of the police shooting of #KeithDavisJr. She was not dispatched to the scene until roughly 90 minutes after they shot Keith.
The next state’s witness was a latent fingerprint examiner. She testified she found a partial palm print on the gun found in the garage after #KeithDavisJr was shot by BPD. The print was never entered into AFIS, which typically returns 20-30 possible candidates.

That won't fly, mate. If you insist on a female MCU character who has developed the depth, the charisma, the backstory AND the authority to lead the story AND the characters, well. You already got her.

You know what to do.
If Cap is the father figure, the old man of the team, Natasha is pretty much the Soccer Mom of the Avengers.

She gave Tony his flu shot.
She knocked sense into Clint's head.
She picked up Cap's shield.
She calms down an angry Bruce.

SHE IS MOTHER.
So far, only @n4vin has presented a solid counter-argument to this proposal. TLDR; Endgame marks the end of an era, it's time for the next-gen Avengers to take over. There's one important thing about this: leading the MCU and leading the Avengers are two separate things.

those are all troll factory/internet research agency accounts.
so pull the accounts that follow them.
you get all these shady looking accounts with the same stats.
drop the false positives, drop the duplicates. you get about 180 accounts worth looking at.
