HOW GUARANTEE TRUST BANK (GTB) HAS SO FAR REFUSED TO RETURN MY MONEY WHICH WAS ERRONEOUSLY TRANSFERRED TO ANOTHER GTB CUSTOMER'S ACCOUNT, DESPITE THIS CUSTOMER GIVING HIS CONSENT FOR THE MONEY TO BE RETURNED!!!

A THREAD.👇👇👇
1. On the 4th of October 2019, I made a money exchange transaction in the tune of 1,220.70€ (including charges) with a merchant in the U.K called Afri-pay @Afripay_Uk which I was to get N481,000 in my GTB account in Nigeria.
2. (N.B: I reside in Germany where I just completely my masters program and work there). Erroneously, I mistakenly filled a wrong account number on @Afripay_Uk Afripay's website as I was rushing to catch the train for work that day, while my name remained as the account name.
3. I didn't realise this mistake until the following monday when I called AfriPay to complain that I didn't get my usual Email alert that money has been credited to my @gtbank GT account. AfriPay made me realise that I filled a different account number and that money has already
4. Been paid out to the wrong beneficiary. I asked @Afripay_Uk to recall the money and they made me realise that they will recall the money, but cannot guarantee that I would eventually get back my money due to the fact that the wrong beneficiary might have spent this money and
5. they cannot be liable for the loss. Furthermore, I called @gtbank GTB for the umpteenth time to complain about this erroneous transfer. They @gtbank(GTB) maintained that unless Afripay sends them an email, there was nothing they could do to help me. I sent countless emails
6. Even copying the @cenbank CBN, yet nothing was done. Afripay later sent me an email that GTB replied them that the wrong Beneficiary account was not sufficiently funded for a recall to be made. I knew something was wrong somewhere and made concerted efforts to reach out to the
7. Wrong beneficiary himself, since the bank was not helping me. I spoke to him and he confided in me that he indeed saw the money and waited for 2weeks for @gtbank to atleast contact him and that since that wasn't the case, he had to withdraw part of the money but was willing to
8. Do the needful by returning the money. He went to @gtbank markudi branch in benue state, Nigeria and told them that the money does not belong to him and that the real owner made an erroneous transfer to his account. He was asked to submit an affidavit and extract which he did
9. And was also asked to write a letter giving his consent for funds to be returned back to where it came from. He did all this and left the bank. He called me immediately telling me about the new development and I thanked him for his kind heart. I contacted @gtbank again and
10. They confirmed that indeed this young man came to the bank twice and that the money is now in their custody and they are working on it. Gtb finally came back to me after calling them for the umpteenth time that I should either tell @Afripay_Uk Afripay to send them an email
11. Or i bring a court order before funds could be transferred back to AfriPay. Clearly, this shows that @gtbank was out to frustrate me into forgetting about this money. However, I didn't let that deter me as I did the former and reached out to @Afripay_Uk Afripay since I don't
12. Live in Nigeria and could not get a court order from Germany. Afripay told me they would send that email and that if @gtbank can confirm to them that the money is in their custody via that same email, they would immediately credit my account with another 481,000naira while
13. They wait for the money to be recalled from @gtbank GTB. I called GTB the next day to confirm if they got the email from AfriPay. GTB confirmed to me that they got the email and that to hasten up the whole process, they would contact my account officer and the wrong
14. Beneficiary's Account officer for the money to be returned back to my account. I found this appalling as I wasn't owing the wrong beneficiary any money for us to 'settle' amicably. I already did all that was asked of me and even went as far as contacting the wrong beneficiary
15. Myself which was actually the bank's job. At this stage, @gtbank has no right to hold on to my money any longer. Initially they said they would send the money back to AfriPay. Now they want to settle amicably and send the money back to my account. This I find suspicious,
16. troubling And fraudulent to mention but a few. It's been almost 2 months now since I made this erroneous transfer via @Afripay_Uk Afripay to my @gtbank account in Nigeria and all effort to get my money back has been frustrated by @gtbank . Gtb has not helped me in anyway
17. Since the beginning of this issue despite being their customer for more that 10 years. Besides, all efforts made by me in recovering my money has been blocked by them so far. The account officer in question has refused to respond to the email the customer care representative
18. Sent to him. The last thing @gtbank told me was that they are still expecting a feedback from the account officer. I don't know why @gtbank is finding it difficult to send the money back to where it came from or at least respond to the email @Afripay_Uk sent. The lady at the
19. Video banking team I spoke to appeared to be confused and clueless as she said she's not authorized to reply to @Afripay_Uk AfriPay's email despite the fact that she was copied in that email and she saw the email too. I asked her to talk to someone that could reply to it, she
20. Refused blatantly. I was told how account officers/bankers in Nigeria diverts this kind of funds, most especially when they know that the owner of the money does not reside in Nigeria.

Guys, I haven't asked for anything before on this app and I also do not have the numerical
21. Strenght to make this tweet go viral. Please, if this tweet comes to your timeline, kindly retweet as I want the whole world to know about the nonchalant attitude @gtbank has towards its customers and their lack of professionalism in resolving issues. I also want the world to
22. know about how @gtbank is about to defraud me of my hard earned money. The bank has blocked the money on the wrong beneficiary's account (I made this happen, else, the wrong beneficiary would have spent my money and GTB would have had no clue about the whole thing) and has so
23. Far refused to Either send the money to where it came from, despite the fact that @Afripay_Uk has already sent them an email requesting a recall or revert the money back to my account. A reputable bank is meant to protect your money at all cost!!!
