The Second Intifada saw a bloody wave of suicide bombings within a span of 5 years which was extremely traumatic for Israelis.
This list details the attempted bombings that took place in Israel from September 2000 - December 2005.

On March 1 2001, a resident of Siris, south of Jenin, took a taxi travelling north from Tel Aviv to Tiberias with an explosive device in a bag. When stopped by an unexpected police roadblock he detonated the explosive.
It was found he was responsible for 2 other incidents in Tel Aviv:
- the day before he had left a bomb which was found by police and safely detonated.
- on December 21 2000 he stabbed an Israeli in the Carmel market
On March 28 2001, a 23 year old resident of Qalqilya blew himself at a gas station in Neveh Yamin near Kfar Saba. He was standing next to a group of high school students waiting for a bus to get to school.
On June 1 2001, a 22 year old resident of Qalqilya blew himself up near a group teenagers and young adults at the entrance to the Dolphinarium night club in Tel Aviv.
On June 17 2001, a 23 year old resident of Nuseirat refugee camp in Gaza approached a roadblock at the entrance to the village of Dahaniya riding a wagon full of explosives pulled by a donkey.
On July 11 2001, a 17 year old high school student and resident of Jenin was headed towards Afula carrying a bag of explosives. He aroused the suspicion of a police officer in Afula and tried to activate the charge but was unsuccessful.
On September 4 2001, a 26 year old resident of Ramallah blew himself up on Hanevi’im street in Jerusalem while being detained by border guards whose suspicion he arose.
On November 29 2001, a 20 year old resident of Silat al-Harithiya (west of Jenin) blew himself up on bus number 823 at the Mahane 80 junction near Pardes Hana.
During Operation Defensive Shield on of the senior organizers was captured.
On December 5 2001, a 46 year old resident of Artas (south of Bethlehem) blew himself up at the corner of David Hamelech and Eliyahu Shmaya streets in Jerusalem. It was just several yards away from the Mamilla Hilton hotel.
On December 9 2001, an 18 year old resident of Yamoun (northwest of Jenin) blew himself up near a group of soldiers at Haifa’s Checkpost Junction. Luckily the charge didn’t fully explode.
On February 6 2002, a 23 year old resident of Nablus got on the number 176 bus at the French Hill Junction in Jerusalem. He sat across the aisle from the driver and tried to detonate the explosive belt but failed.
On February 17 2002, two 18 and 22 year old residents of Nablus and Jaiyus (north of Qalqilya) were in a Mazda stopped near an IDF base by Pardes Hana. A passing patrol car became suspicious and was met with gun fire.
On February 18 2002, a 34 year old resident of Beit Sahour (near Bethlehem) parked his Peugeot 205 which was full of explosives at the side of the road from Ma’ale Adumim to Jerusalem.
On March 2 2002, an 18 year old resident of Dehaishe (near Bethlehem) blew himself up on Haim Ozer street next to a group of worshippers who had just left a synagogue in the Beit Israel section of Jerusalem.
On March 7 2002, a 21 year old resident of Jabel Muqabbar entered Cafe Kapit on the corner of Emek Rafa’im and Hania street in Jerusalem carrying a bag with explosives. Wires could be seen coming out of the bag.
On March 7 2002, an 18 year old resident of Sanur (south of Jenin) went to Karkur with a bird cage. When he went to put the cage on the ground an Israeli citizen noticed pipes on his body. The suspect fled but was apprehended the next day.
On March 30 2002, a 21 year old resident of Jenin wore an explosive and got into a car with a colleague armed with an M-16. The two drove to Baka al-Gharbia where they were surprised by border guards and a firefight ensued.
On May 22 2002, a 17 year old resident of Al-Doha (west of Bethlehem) blew himself up at the Rothschild pedestrian mall in Rishon Lezion. Out of the 2 people that dropped him off 1 was Jewish Israeli citizen.
On October 10 2002, a 31 year old resident of Qalqilya attempted to get on the number 87 bus at the Bar Ilan junction on the Geha highway but was injured and began receiving treatment by the bus driver and a doctor.
On October 11 2002, a 23 year old resident of Zawiya in Qalqilya district arrived at Cafe Tayelet in Tel Aviv during the evening. The security at the entrance discovered the belt and the bomber fled.
On November 22 2002, a 22 year old resident of Al-Brij (near Dir al-Balah) and a 19 year old resident of Beit Hanoun in Gaza stole a fishing boat and loaded it with explosives. When sailing off they ran into an Israeli navy patrol boat.
On December 28 2002, a 20 year old resident of A’nata attempted to blow himself up in a car full of explosives parked on Munbaz street in Jerusalem. The attack failed and he was taken for interrogation.
On February 9 2003, 2 residents of Al-Brij and 1 of Nuseirat (ages 17, 18, and 22) drove a Pontiac full of explosives towards an IDF post in northern Gaza.
On April 15 2003, an 18 year old high school student and resident of Jabalia in Gaza armed with a gun, hand grenades and explosive belt began firing his weapon and throwing grandes at the Karni crossing in Gaza.
On April 24 2003, an 18 year old high school student and resident of Balata (near Nablus) arrived at Kfar Saba railroad station wearing an explosive belt underneath.
On April 30 2003, a 22 year old British citizen blew himself up at the entrance to Mike’s Place in Tel Aviv. A 27 year old British citizen attempted to do the same but had a technical failure.
On May 8 2003, a 22 year old resident of Nuseirat in Gaza blew himself up in a car full of explosives next to a tank in Kfar Darom. A few moments before the attack shots were fired at the soldiers to distract them.
On March 6 2004, 4 residents (2 from Shati aged 30 and 18, 1 from Rimal age 19, and 1 from Sheikh Radwan age 19) approached the Erez crossing in a coordinated assault.
On May 28 2004, a 22 year old resident of Rafah drove in a Jeep laden with explosives towards an Israeli bus en route to the Rafah terminal.
On December 29 2005, a 22 year old resident of Jenin who also served on the Palestinian police force arrived with 2 other Palestinians in a taxi at a roadblock south of Tulkarm. When he was asked to open his coat he detonated the belt.
