"One [Firtash] had been indicted on federal bribery charges. The other [Kolomoisky] was embroiled in a vast banking scandal and was reported to be under investigation by the F.B.I."
"...they had one more thing in common: Both had been singled out by Rudolph W. Giuliani and pressed to assist in his wide-ranging hunt for information damaging to one of President Trump’s leading political rivals, former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr."
"That effort culminated in the 7/25/19 ph call between the American and Ukrainian presidents that has taken Trump to the brink of impeachment and inexorably brought Mr. Giuliani’s Ukrainian shadow campaign into the light."

Recall, Firtash was supposed to be extradited in July.
Also, recall, just prior...

The Austrian government collapsed....due to Russia bribery.

Yup, that happened:

Recall, Firtash was using Lanny Davis, but switched tactics over Summer.

He specifically targets lawyers with connects to presidents as his tactic to get free:

"...interviews with the two Ukrainian oligarchs — Dmitry Firtash and Ihor Kolomoisky — as well as w/ several other people w/ knowledge of Mr. Giuliani’s dealings, point to a new dimension in his exertions on behalf of his client, Trump..."
"Taken together, they depict a strategy clearly aimed at leveraging information from politically powerful but legally vulnerable foreign citizens."

Both men with Russian and Ukrainian mob connections....
"....Firtash... w/ deep ties to the Kremlin...is facing extradition to the US on bribery and racketeering charges, one of Giuliani’s assocs has described offering the oligarch help with his DOJ problems..."

Nik Haley now sits on the board of the company he bribed, just sayin'...
"...Firtash hired 2 lawyers who were close to Trump and were already working w/ Giuliani on his dirt-digging mission. Firtash said the offer was made in late 6/19 (!!) when he met w/ Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, both Soviet-born businessmen involved in Giuliani’s Ukraine pursuit."
"...Parnas’s lawyer, Joseph A. Bondy, confirmed that account and added that his client had met w/ Firtash *at Giuliani’s direction* and encouraged the oligarch to help in the hunt for compromising info “as part of any potential resolution to his extradition matter.”

WOW!
"...Firtash’s relationship to the Trump-allied lawyers - Toensing and diGenova - has led to intense speculation that he is, at least indirectly, helping to finance Giuliani’s campaign. But until now he has stayed silent...."

Why IS he speaking out?
"...Mr. Firtash said he had no info about the Bidens and had not financed the search for it. “Without my will and desire,” he said, “I was sucked into this internal US fight...”

I wonder if he senses or has been told that Justice Dept is not going to give up on getting him here?
Nevertheless:

"...But to help his legal case, [Firtash] said, he had paid his new lawyers $1.2M to date, w/a portion set aside as something of a referral fee for Parnas."
"...in late 8/19, Toensing and diGenova did as promised: They went to the DOJ and pleaded Firtash’s case w/ ...Bill Barr.

In an interview, *Giuliani acknowledged* that he had sought info helpful to Trump from a member of Firtash’s original legal team."
The Whistblower complaint dropped 8/12/19; just days prior to Firtash's legal team's visit to Bill Barr apparently:

"But, Giuliani said, “the only thing he could give me was what I already had, hearsay.” Asked if he had then directed his assocs to meet w/ Mr. Firtash, Mr. Giuliani initially said, “I don’t think I can comment,” but later said, “I did not tell Parnas to do anything w/ Firtash.”
"[Giuiliani] added, though, that there would be nothing improper about seeking info about the Bidens from the oligarchs. “Where do you think you get information about crime?” he said."

But they said not to listen to Michael Cohen or Rick Gates. Weird!
Dropping in the 2013 complaint against Firtash, here. This ass has evaded the U.S. government since 2013, let that sink it.

Think you or I would be able to do that?

diGenova and Toensing claim that Parnas first met Firtash in 6/19:

"Mr. Firtash met Mr. Parnas for the first time in 6/19. Mr. Firtash had no business relationship w/Mr. Parnas or Mr. Fruman," according to a statement from the law firm of diGenova & Toensing, which reps Firtash"
Yet, now it's reported that Devin Nunes went to Europe - to Vienna - to meet Shokin in 12/18, and Parnas says that he was *recruited* by Nunes there.

They went to Vienna. They didn't meet Firtash at that time?

(Forgot to tag in the tweet about Toensing and diGenova saying that Parnas met Firtash in 6/19:

)
Then the offer was made (from above):

"Chuck Rosenberg, a legal expert and a US atty under President GWS, said the “solicitation of info, under these circumstances, and to discredit the president’s political opponent, is at best crass and ethically suspect.”
Rosenberg: "...it is even worse if Giuliani, either directly or through emissaries...intimated that pending criminal cases can be ‘fixed’ at the DOJ. The president’s lawyer seems to be trading on the president’s supervisory authority over the DOJ, and that is deeply disturbing.”
So Rudy "allegedly" caught out here acting as a foreign agent for Ukrainian oligarch tied to the Kremlin, and also acting as an agent for Turkey.

BAD Rudy. #FARA

Joseph A. "Bondy, the lawyer for Parnas...said in a statement that ALL OF HIS CLIENT'S ACTIONS had been directed by Mr. Giuliani."

🔥🔥🔥
"Parnas reasonably believed Giuliani’s directions reflected the interests and wishes of the president, given Parnas having witnessed and in several instances overheard Giuliani speaking with the president,” the lawyer said...."
"Parnas, he added, “is remorseful for involving himself and Mr. Firtash in the president’s self-interested political plot.”

BOOM. HAMMER DROPPED.
"A Conduit to Ukraine

By the time Giuliani turned his attn to Kolomoisky and Firtash, he had been working for months to turn up damaging info about Biden and his son Hunter, who joined the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma while his father was vice president."
"Giuliani spoke w/ Ukrainian officials like Viktor Shokin, the former prosecutor general who suggested, FALSELY, that Biden had had him fired for looking into Burisma, as well as with Mr. Shokin’s successor, Yuriy Lutsenko...."
"...And [Giuliani] enlisted Toensing and diGenova, trusted colleagues since their days together in the Reagan DOJ, to help interview and potentially represent anyone willing to come forward with dirt."
"Mr. Parnas acted as translator and fixer, crisscrossing the Atlantic with stops at the Manhattan cigar bar that was Mr. Giuliani’s hangout, a strip club in Kyiv and even a Hanukkah reception at the White House."

BOOP.

"At last year's WH Hanukkah party, Parnas & Fruman had a private meeting w Trump & Giuliani during which Trump tasked the two men w/ “a secret mission” to pressure the Ukrainian gov't to investigate Joe & Hunter Biden, sources say."

"The campaign seemed to be paying off, w/ the Ukrainian president, Poroshenko, poised to announce the investigations Giuliani sought, when the political situation changed...."
" On 4/21, Poroshenko was unseated by Volodymyr Zelensky, a comedian and political novice, sending Giuliani scrambling to establish a conduit. Two days later, Parnas and Fruman flew to Tel Aviv to meet w/Kolomoisky, who was seen as Zelensky’s patron."

He is.
Parnas and Fruman met Kolomoisky right away, in 4/19:

And Kolomoisky is reportedly now being repped by a Trump lawyer [Kasowitz] in his U.S. criminal case.

Weird!

Ihor Kolomoisky is currently under FBI investigation out of Ohio:

"Kolomoisky...is also known for financing mercenary troops battling Russian-supported separatists in east Ukraine. Earlier in 4/19, The Daily Beast had reported...that the FBI was investigating him for possible money-laundering in connection w/ problems at a bank he had owned."
This article cleans that up a bit.

Here's what Kolomoisky was financing: Azov Battalion. Does this sound good?

"[Kolomoisky] is also entangled in a civil lawsuit in Delaware.

Mr. Giuliani’s assessment, according to Mr. Parnas’s lawyer, was that those legal problems made Mr. Kolomoisky vulnerable to pressure."

How does Rudy know? Oh yeah.

Kolomoisky, too, is accused of corruption:

The takeover of Kolomoisky's bank, PrivatBank, was about CLEANING UP corruption:

Back to the Parnas and Fruman , mtg w/ Kolomoisky in 4/19:

"But the meeting did not go according to plan. In an interview, Kolomoisky said the two men came “under the made-up pretext of dealing liquefied natural gas...”

This is extraordinary!
Re Kolmoisky: "..as soon as it became clear that what they [Parnas/Fruman] really wanted was a mtg between Giuliani & Zelensky, he abruptly sent them on their way."

“I say, ‘Did you see a sign on the door that says, ‘Meetings w/ Zelensky arranged here’?

“They said, ‘No.’" 😁
"I [Kolomoisky] said, ‘Well then, you’ve ended up in the wrong place.’”

Kolomoisky, who has denied wrongdoing in the bank case, said he had not been contacted by the FBI a bureau spokesman declined to say whether the oligarch was under investigation."
"After the Kolomoisky meeting’s unsuccessful end, Giuliani tweeted about the DB article and gave an interview to a Ukrainian journalist. Zelensky, he warned, “must cleanse himself from hangers-on from his past and from criminal oligarch, Kolomoisky and others.”

Petty AF, Rudy.
So "allegedly" Rudy, Parnas and Fruman tried to get the Ukrainian oligarchs help, and he says, when he didn't comply, Rudy trashed him in the media.

Neither one of these people are credible but that's on-brand for Giuliani:

"...Kolomoisky offered a warning of his own, predicting in the Ukrainian press that “a big scandal may break out, and not only in Ukraine, but in the United States. That is, it may turn out to be a clear conspiracy against Biden.”

LOLOLOL
Help to Fight an Extradition

The pair fared better Firtash.

For several yrs, Firtash’s most visible lawyer had been Lanny Davis, a well-connected Democrat who also represented Mr. Trump’s fixer-turned-antagonist, Michael Cohen...."
"...In a television appearance in March, Mr. Giuliani had attacked Mr. Davis for taking money from the oligarch, citing federal prosecutors’ contention that he was tied to a top Russian mobster — a charge Mr. Firtash has denied."
Now, however, Giuliani wanted Mr. Firtash’s help. After being largely rebuffed by a member of the oligarch’s legal team in early 6/19, he hit upon another approach, according to Parnas’s lawyer: persuading Firtash to hire more amenable counsel."

Whoa.
Let that sink in: Rudy "allegedly" counseling a fugitive of the U.S. government to drop his Democrat lawyer, and get him some Republican ones.

And that's exactly what happened.
"There was a brief discussion about Giuliani’s taking on that role himself, but Giuliani said he decided against it. According to Mr. Parnas’s lawyer, that is when Giuliani charged Parnas w/ persuading the oligarch to replace Davis w/Toensing and diGenova...."
"[Parnas & Fruman] secured the 6/19 meeting w/ Firtash in Vienna after a mutual acquaintance, whom Firtash declined to name, vouched for them.

WHO VOUCHED FOR THEM? MANAFORT?
"In the interview, Firtash said it had been clear to him that the two were working for Giuliani. [Firtash], a major player in the Ukr gas market, said Parnas and Fruman initially pitched him on a deal to sell American liquefied natural gas to Ukraine, via a terminal in Poland..."
Poland. Recall, more attempts at dirtying up Biden there:

Trump doing visa waivers from Poland in 10/19, why? We're full. Has to be related to Biden.

"I have just...nominated Poland for entry into the Visa Waiver Program. With this decades long-awaited announcement, we are in the final steps of the process which...would grant Polish nationals* visa-free biz * and tourism travel to the US & vice versa."

Moving on:

"Firtash had been arrested in Vienna in 2014, at the American authorities’ request, after his indictment on charges of bribing Indian officials for permission to mine titanium for BOEING."

🔥🔥🔥

Finally they're saying it out loud.
"Firtash, who denies the charges, was free on bail but an Austrian court had cleared the way for his extradition to the Us.

In hopes of blocking that order, Firtash and his Vienna lawyers had filed records showing that a key piece of evidence - a document known as “Exhibit A”
A document "that was said to lay out the bribery scheme-prep'd not by Firtash’s firm, but by the global consultancy McKinsey & Co. Firtash’s legal team had been unable to persuade fed prosecutors to withdraw it. McKinsey has denied recommending “bribery or other illegal acts.”
"Toensing & diGenova, the Giuliani emissaries told him, “are in a position to insist to correct the record and call back Exh A as evidence,” Mr. Firtash recalled.

He hired [them] he said...to arrange a mtg w/ the AG and persuade him to withdraw Exh A."

💣💣💣
Is Dmitry Firtash's legal now dishing on Giuliani, Parnas and Fruman because his legal counsel has instructed him the tide has turned against him?

Because this is really weird!
"He said their contract was for $300K a mo, including Parnas’s referral fee. A person w/ direct knowledge of the arrangement said Parnas’s total share was $200K; Toensing declined to discuss the pymnt but has said previously that it was for case-related translation."

Lanny Davis was only making $80K per month, lol:

"There was one more piece to Parnas’s play. “Per Giuliani’s instructions,” Parnas’s lawyer said, his client “informed Firtash that Toensing & diGenova were interested in collecting info on the Bidens.”

Firtash has axe to grind with Biden, too:
"It was the former VP who had pushed the Ukrainian government to eliminate middleman gas brokers like Mr. Firtash and diversify the country’s supply away from Russia."

👆👆👆
These F'ing bastards.

"While Firtash declined to say whether anyone linked to the dirt-digging efforts had asked him for info, he was *adamant* that he had not provided any. Doing so might have helped Giuliani, he said, but it would not have helped him w/ his legal problems."
Remember Nunes asking about the black ledger in the hearings?

That was a Manafort/Firtash fishing expedition. At least, they stand to benefit from it, if the ledger can be discredited.

Rudy Giuliani tried to discredit the journalist turned politician (Leschenko) who brought forward the black ledger:

Firtash: “I can tell you only one thing...I do not have any info, I did not collect any info, I didn’t finance anyone who would collect that info, and it would be a big mistake from my side if I decided to be involved in such a fight.”

It would, and yet:

Pausing for now, headed out to appt.

Why Giuliani Singled Out 2 Ukrainian Oligarchs to Help Dig Up Dirt
nytimes.com/2019/11/25/us/…
(Finishing this thread...)
We left off with Firtash saying:

"I can tell you only one thing...I do not have any info, I did not collect any info, I didn’t finance anyone who would collect that info, and it would be a big mistake from my side if I decided to be involved in such a fight."

...
"At any rate, Toensing and diGenova soon delivered for Firtash, arranging the meeting w/ AG Barr. But by the time they met, in mid-8/19, the ground had shifted: ..."
"...The WB's complaint laying out Trump’s phone call w/ Mr. Zelensky, and Giuliani’s activities in Ukraine, had been forwarded to the DOJ and described in detail to Mr. Barr."
"What’s more, concerns about intervening in the Firtash case had been raised by some inside the DOJ, according to two people w/ knowledge of the matter...."
"...The DOJ declined comment, but Firtash said the AG ultimately told the lawyers to “go back to Chicago,” where the case had initially been brought, and deal with prosecutors there."
"Firtash continues, however, to have faith in Toensing and diGenova’s ability to work the DOJ angle. Their contract was *just extended* at least through year’s end."

Still getting paid by the oligarch. OK.
Docs Leaked

If Firtash had nothing to offer, Giuliani still got some results.

After Toensing and diGenova came on board, confidential docs from Firtash’s case file began to find their way into articles by John Solomon..."

Weird! How? By osmosis?
"One article, citing internal memos circulated among Firtash’s lawyers, disclosed that the OSC, Mueller had offered a deal to Firtash if he could help w/ their investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 election...."
"Giuliani...took the story a step further. In an appearance on Fox News, he alleged that the offer to Firtash amounted to an attempt to suborn perjury, but said the oligarch had refused to “lie to get out of the case” against him."

How would Rudy know this?
"Then, after the meeting w/ Mr. Barr, Solomon posted a sworn affidavit from Shokin, the former Ukrainian prosecutor, repeating his contention that Mr. Biden had pressed for his firing to short-circuit his investigations."

"Giuliani was soon waving the affidavit around on television, without explaining that it had been taken by a member of Mr. Firtash’s legal team to support HIS case."

Oh? Rudy didn't mention that?
Firtash said HE HAD NOT AUTHORIZED THE DOCS RELEASE...He said the affidavit had been filed confidentially w/ the Austrian court b/c it also included the former prosecutor’s statement that Biden had been instrumental in blocking Firtash’s return to political life in Ukraine..."
"...an assertion that Firtash believes speaks to the political nature of the case against him.

Toensing & diGenova declined to say whether they had played a role in leaking the docs, but Mark Corallo, a spokesman for their firm..."

Trump's Mark Corallo?

cnbc.com/2018/01/04/tru…
"...said that the pair “took the Firtash case for only one reason: They believe that Mr. Firtash is innocent of the charges brought against him.”

More like they were looking at that big payday and said what the heck.
"When Parnas and Fruman were arrested, they were at Dulles...awaiting a flight to Vienna, where they had arranged to have the Fox News host Sean Hannity interview Shokin. Giuliani was planning to join them the next day, he said in an interview."

A bemused Kolomoisky has watched the events unfold from Ukraine, where he returned after Zelensky’s victory. Initially he didn’t believe that Parnas was all that connected, he said, but after Giuliani started going after him, “I was able to connect A to B.”
Look what Kolomoisky said recently:

Kolomoisky "says Ukraine should launch the investigations sought by Trump. And if Dems take over in DC? “If they get smart w/ us, we’ll go to Russia…Your NATO will be soiling its pants and buying Pampers.”

Not good.

"[Kolomoisky] said he had since made peace w/ Parnas and had spoken to him *several times,* INCLUDING THE NIGHT BEFORE HE WAS DETAINED. In their convos, he said, Parnas made no secret that he was helping Firtash w/ his legal case...."
"And while Kolomoisky insisted that neither Parnas nor Fruman had mentioned his own legal travails, he added:

"Had they, I would have said: ‘Let’s watch Firtash and train on Firtash. When Firtash comes back here, and everything is O.K., I will be your next client.’”
Spring Firtash, and you can do my case next.
