Maybe pundits have forgotten but Obama won the almost all-white Iowa caucus in 2008, then swept numerous other all-white states that year (see: Maine, Montana, Idaho) but we're still going to get lectures about how the party is systematically inhospitable to non-white candidates
That's a much easier, self-absolving narrative to push when you want to blame anyone other than the candidate herself for why her campaign failed
Ironically the real "culprits" are minority voters who evidently reject the identity-fixated worldview that media elites try to graft onto them
