On top of the outrage being fake, what's really annoying about Barrongate is the amplifying of Republican depictions of what happened that are outright false.
Nobody used Barron "to justify impeachment," as Pence claimed. Nobody "mock[ed]" him as @kayleighmcenany dishonestly asserted. Those things didn't happen. Indeed, the fact that these statements are false points to their insincerity, which would otherwise be hard to prove.
But there is no burden of proof for Republicans pretending to be mad about things they've embellished.
If they condemned Dems for streaking through the Capitol, when it obviously didn't happen, the story would be about the bizarre fabrication. Well, these statements contain fabrications, too.
