Same situation occurred in Ga., where Kemp was dragged over finish line by Trump and then rebuffed Trump's request that he appoint Collins to Senate seat. nytimes.com/2019/12/07/us/…

If you’re Bloomberg and you were, realistically, seen as a laugher candidate when you switched Dem registration to GOP in a Dem-heavy city in 2001 and then won your first-ever campaign, there’s a way to tell yourself that running nationally with an established record has a shot
But. Among the differences between Trump and Bloomberg - two rich men from NY who won their first-ever campaigns - is that Trump was defined to voters nationally by The Apprentice, a fact we in NY missed.
Bloomberg will try to define himself with ads spent in Super Tuesday states, per @alexburnsNYT, who broke the news yesterday. He’s already known nationally by some for climate change work but others for things like the smoking ban in NYC. Tougher dice-roll.
