Loved this podcast with the founders of Instagram. They come across as humble, product obsessed, and highly curious.

Most interesting: 40 mins in on Stories. Feed had gotten worse at the job users hired Instagram to do. People no longer were comfortable posting multiple times, or being whimsical. Stories performed that job, Feed evolved to more public postings, and total engagement increased.
Instagram Stories is THE canonical example of a big consumer tech co launching a lookalike product of a startup and succeeding, so its worth thinking about why. Of course, Insta founders aren’t neutral, and have their version of the story, but still cool to hear their thoughts.
Their comments on simplicity, community and obsessive focus on product mirrored a lot of what @BrianNorgard said on his great podcast earlier this year.
I have no idea what Socialbakers is, but if Instagram Stories is at 10% of total FB revs on a run rate basis, would imply it’s going to do $9B+ in revs next year, given it’s growing faster than the overall co. SNAP is estimated to do $2.4B in 2020. bloomberg.com/news/articles/…
Again, assuming that 10% is correct, Stories would be something like 35-40% of Instagram revs next year.
