So in past years @oraclecloud drove cars around #reinvent with the Oracle logo on the side. "Save money on your @awscloud bill by switching to Oracle!" they marketed to... well, naive idiots who weren't familiar with Oracle, apparently.

Why did they do this? Little known fact: @awscloud buys up pretty much all of the advertising space around Las Vegas and resells it / uses it themselves.

This almost certainly cost millions of dollars. Was it worth it? Hard to say; it's not what I'd do.

Instead, if I'm @oracle marketing? I'd lease a restaurant stall in Las Vegas instead. 51 weeks a year? It sells pickles or something, because that's what Larry thinks humans eat.

But for one glorious week a year, it becomes: The Oracle Booth

@Oracle The Oracle Marching Band / Pickle Waitstaff sweeps through the Venetian singing the Oracle Song.

Banners hang from the restaurant proclaiming the value of Oracle over Amazon.

@Oracle Would it work? I don't know, but it's likely better marketing than suing @USDOL claiming they have no right to enforce discrimination law.
