(THREAD) Media has put NO heat on Republicans in purple districts over their impeachment votes. Let's change that by highlighting those in Congress who—faced with overwhelming testimonial/material evidence of impeachable offenses—will vote to PROTECT Trump. Please RETWEET widely.

18/ Fred Upton (R-MI) is in an R+4 district. He will vote NO on impeaching Trump.
19/ Lee Zeldin (R-NY) is in an R+5 district. He will vote NO on impeaching Trump.
20/ All these Republicans hope that you won't tweet at them, call their offices, comment publicly their cowardice, or in any way draw attention to a simple fact: if Trump goes down big in November, they may well lose their seats. Tell them they're backing a losing—criminal—horse.
PS/ And it would seem fair to ask folks in media why they are talking daily about whether Democrats will defect and vote to protect Trump but take as a given that no Republicans should be, will be, or are expected to. Every Republican in an R+5 or less should be questioned daily.
NOTE/ I didn't include Jeff Van Drew (D-NJ)—who's in an R+1 district—because he's a special case: Trump met privately with him—one of his jurors with respect to the impeachment (as opposed to conviction) vote—and corruptly convinced him to switch parties. nytimes.com/2019/12/14/us/…
NOTE2/ The GOP threw *out* a member who's voting FOR impeachment (Amash) and convinced a Democrat to switch to the GOP right *after* he votes AGAINST impeachment (Van Drew) so they can say the vote FOR was partisan and AGAINST, bipartisan. It's a sham media is playing along with.
NOTE3/ So let's ask the media to be clear: Van Drew, who will vote AGAINST impeachment, is a Republican—he's already said he's switching. Meanwhile, Amash *was* a Republican when he declared he'd vote FOR impeachment, making the vote FOR bipartisan and AGAINST—currently—partisan.
NOTE4/ This is why media gets hammered. You have a bipartisan FOR vote and a partisan AGAINST vote and because media has allowed a GOP scam on this they're reporting a bipartisan AGAINST vote and a partisan FOR vote. Meanwhile, they won't pressure vulnerable Republicans at *all*.
NOTE5/ Media should ask themselves whether, when historians look at this 100 years from now—and they will be—will any historian worth their salt *not* note that the "bipartisan" vote AGAINST impeachment and the "partisan" vote FOR it was engineered via GOP tricks and is illusory?
