Sarcasm aside, my point was, the GOP may keep Bolton from testifying now, but they must see he'll eventually be forced to testify to Congress, and it sounds like Trump thinks his testimony is damning. Yet by blocking it now they're setting it up to come right before the election.
The case against Trump is a slam dunk, but apparently Democrats think Bolton would make it even stronger. And apparently Trump thinks it'd be devastating. So it's ironic that by Bolton being blocked from testifying now, he'll probably end up testifying right before the election.
So there's an argument to be made, if you're a Republican, for letting Bolton testify *now* so you can put as much time as possible between his testimony and the election rather than having him testify days/weeks before it. But maybe his testimony's so damning they can't do that?
