One immediate takeaway from the new @TRACReports data on MPP cases is...

...that we have absolutely no idea how many people have been subject to MPP.

TRAC shows 56,004 MPP cases filed in court through November. But on 12/9/19, CBP said an audit showed they’d sent back 54,000.
The @TRACReports analysis of @DOJ_EOIR data found 56,004 MPP cases through 11/31. On 12/9, CBP said only 54,000 has been sent back.

Did CBP not only double-counted some people subject to MPP, but file more than one case for the same person?

Did CBP’s auditors also screw up?
