Transportation Secretary Chao's Kentucky favoritism continues. A $67.4 million DOT grant was awarded to a suburban district of political importance to her husband, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell: politico.com/news/2019/12/1…
Chao designated one of her top aides, who had previously worked for McConnell, to be a conduit for Kentucky-related requests. We obtained emails showing the coordination between the Department of Transportation and McConnell's office: americanoversight.org/more-evidence-…
Chao isn't the only Trump cabinet member focusing on her home state. Sec. of State Pompeo might be pursuing political ambitions in Kansas and USDA Secretary Perdue has maintained ties to a web of Georgia-based entities.

For a foreign policy initiative the White House claims was totally above board and legitimate, it is highly suspicious that top State Department officials have no records of communications with Rudy Giuliani during the critical months of August and September 2019.
Those are the months in which the rest of the administration was carrying out Trump's directive to freeze aid to Ukraine. Giuliani himself said he was in contact with Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in mid-September - yet there is no record of that in these documents.

Late on a Friday night in November, the State Department released nearly 100 pages of documents to us in response to our lawsuit for Ukraine-related records — which showed a paper trail from Rudy Giuliani to the Oval Office to Sec. of State Pompeo: americanoversight.org/state-departme…
These records are also further evidence of the administration’s unprecedented obstruction of Congress. In its impeachment inquiry, the House requested that the administration turn over related documents, but the Trump White House directed agencies not to comply with the requests.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell announced today that he's filing cloture (aka the first step towards a vote) on a resolution to decrease the amount of time it takes to get to a final vote on district court nominees — from 30 hours after cloture to 2 hours
This would not change the rules for circuit court or SCOTUS nominees. Sen. Lankford has been pushing this proposal for a long time, and the resolution McConnell is putting forward is the version that Lankford and Blunt intro'd earlier this year: rules.senate.gov/news/majority-…
Although Trump has broken records with circuit court judges confirmed, there's been grumbling on the right about the slower pace on district court nominees. Rs blame Ds, saying forcing cloture and the 30-hour debate period for most nominees is unreasonable
