Everyone linking that thread from Rebecca somebody on how sex is sooooo complicated is missing the point feminism makes completely. Women were oppressed long before chromosomes could be seen, before we had current technology to map many intersex variations.
Men knew who to rape, who child brides were and are, who to deny education to, who to deny property rights, the right to vote, right to have bank accounts ect ect ect. Sex was not complicated enough to blur the line of who experiences sexism.
No trans women or trans girls or cross dressing males or third gender role occupying males faced this systemic sexism. No modern trans women do either. No misogynistic nb White bearded men like the one from Maya’s case do either 
All this shit is muddying the water. Not to mention shiting on intersex people and orgs who have asked to be kept out of gender id debates and not assumed to be trans because of their DSD.
Intersex disorders are 100% irrelevant to this discussion about gender law changes and how sex and gender id are being conflated and the potential implication of self id.
Female oppression on an individual level and institutional one will continue regardless. Not being able to recognize it and NAME IT hurts us in real tangible ways. Not just hurt feelings from not having a piece of paper mislabeling your sex as your gender id.
This whole sex is complicated BS also ignores how long feminists have fought AGAINST gender roles and stereotypes. The cis/trans binary is pushing these stereotypes into law as something innate and tangible that needs to be respected. HELL NO. We cannot go back.
Women are not a feeling, not related to feminine presentation or clothes, not to wanting to be submissive in bed. There is no scientific proof of a soul or of sexist pink/blue brains. How long have we fought against “girls are just bad at math, boys brains are more logical”?
You cannot & should not be able to legally force anyone to believe in or parrot your religious beliefs. Women do not have to believe in gendered souls/invisible essences. We don’t have to acknowledge your belief in “biological innate gender”.
Gender is a social construct. It’s external. Socialization starts sometimes before birth even. Male & female fetuses are treated differently. From parenting to toys bought to boundaries and expectations while playing this shit starts at birth. Gender is not innate
Women should be able to say that, to have our beliefs & acknowledge the reality of sex as an axis of oppression. One all females (women, nb females, & trans men) all deal with. #sexnotgender We cannot fight sexism if ppl insist oppressors can experience it solely by going by they
