THREAD

2019 has been quite a year for @GeorgetownICAP & our work to defend the Constitution!

As the year draws to a close, here's a look back at some highlights. /1
In February, @GeorgetownICAP's fight against President Trump's border wall on behalf of a historic Texas chapel yielded a big win, as the chapel was written into federal law as a site where no wall construction could occur. /2 washingtonpost.com/graphics/2019/…
In April, @GeorgetownICAP proudly represented the U.S. House of Representatives at the Supreme Court in challenging the addition of a citizenship question to the 2020 Census--a challenge that, in June, successfully blocked the question. /3 law.georgetown.edu/news/georgetow…
In June, @GeorgetownICAP spent an amazing evening in LA with @sacca @crystale @mamoonha @johnlegend & @tystiklorius (pictured here with @neal_katyal & @jgeltzer) & many more friends like @stewart @Lin_Manuel & @melissafumero. /4
Also in June, @GeorgetownICAP secured a landmark ruling from a federal court in Missouri declaring unconstitutional St. Louis' use of cash bail--another big victory in our nationwide fight against the criminalization of poverty. /5 law.georgetown.edu/news/federal-j…
Another huge win came for @GeorgetownICAP in October, as a federal judge in Maryland stopped from going into effect nationwide a new Trump administration rule penalizing immigrants based on a guess that they might use public benefits in the future. /6 law360.com/illinois/artic…
And in November came a major victory not just for @GeorgetownICAP & the House of Representatives but also for America's fundamental checks & balances: a federal court ruled Trump's former White House Counsel must comply with a congressional subpoena. /7 nytimes.com/2019/11/25/us/…
There's been a lot to celebrate in 2019; & @GeorgetownICAP is grateful to the supporters & partners who made these & many more wins possible.

And there's a lot more to do in 2020!
