/ Listeners to @HiddenForcesPod have asked me to put together a reading list on various topics. I've started by compiling one for those interested in markets, economics, & investing. The list consists of 119 books of history and financial theory. patreon.com/posts/32588884
/ There are also many books that arguably should be included in any list dealing with markets & the economy but which I chose to leave out (e.g. The End of Economic Man, The Great Illusion, etc.), because they will be included later, in a different list.
/ Inevitably, there are books left off that should be included, either because (1) I forgot to add them or (2) haven't read them (e.g. "Das Kapital"). In other instances, I've deliberately chosen not to add a specific book precisely because I read it and didn't find it valuable.
/ I've broken the list into sub-categories like "financial history," "probability & complexity," "1990s-Early 2000s," etc. These are imperfect groupings, and in some cases the same book could easily belong to multiple categories, though I've restricted them to only one.
/ This list includes some of my most beloved books like “Monetary History of the United States,” “Prices & Production,” “The Misbehavior of Markets,” “Reminiscences of a Stock Operator,” “The House of Morgan,” “The World in Depression,” “The Alchemy of Finance,” and many others.
/ Lastly, I will add to this list once I've had a chance to go through my library and will be updating it periodically going forward. Feel free to tweet at me if you think I left something off unwittingly or if you think something should be added that isn't currently there.
