Often I get asked in my ad creative only groups how to make disruptive and design-intensive ad creatives that we all love in our feeds (example below). The answer comes down to working with a talented designer, BUT I wanted to share with you in this thread an alternative...
While the example above is awesome and potentially worth the production/design investment... you can make effective ads on the fly by simply using you iPhone and the editing capabilities within IG stories. Here’s an example of an ad I made using stories (took less than a min!)
This ad is absolutely crushing on both IG stories and Snapchat right now. Why? Because it follows a simple framework:
- Real person using the product in a real-life situation
- Doesn’t feel like an ad and is native to the platform
- Clear and gets to the point in < 3 seconds

We’ve tried plenty of beautifully produced and designed ads but the organic looking ads often get the most scale because we can also produce them at scale and test different UGC rapidly. This type of content works best on IG stories and Snapchat (I love Snapchat for this reason)!
While there is no silver bullet to FB ads, your ability to test different creatives rapidly is the most important ingredient to scale. If design and production resources are your bottleneck, go crazy on the low production stories and crack that placement in 2020! 🙌🏼
